Abstract: The five different type of Fixtures are specifically developed for filling of sealants/compounds upto the acceptable level on the Electronic Cards.
The present Invention relates to apparatus for Filling of Sealants/ Compounds on
the Electronic Cards and more particularly to the Fixtures for filling Sealants meant for
Coating on the Electronic Cards up to the recommended level. The Five different types
10 of Fixtures are specifically designed and developed for five different type of Electronic
cards meant for discrimination, amplification and signals generation in Ice Detection

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
15
The Electronic Cards in the aviation field are required to be reliable under various
extreme conditions of vibration and temperature. To increase the reliability of tracks and
joints of electronic Cards, the coating of rubber compound Sealants is carried out. This
20 coating should be made between the acceptable limits which is different for different
cards.
The present invention is particularly concerned with the filling of Sealants on the
five different type of Electronics Cards meant for different functions in Ice detection
system. The Sealant filled on one side of the three different Electronic cards (for Signal
25 discrimination, timing signal generation & output command generation) and both sides
of two different Electronics Cards (for Signal Amplification and control signal
generation). Working life of prepared sealing compound may vary from few minutes to
several hours depending on ambient temperature. This sealant is applied on Card’s
surface to defined height, covering soldering or individual electro radio element,
30 specified in drawings, by pouring method.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
20 Referring to figure 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, the present inventions are fixtures for five
different types of Electronic cards meant for discrimination, amplification and signals
generation in Ice Detection System.
Fixture for Electronic Card of type-1 (referring figure 1) is specifically designed to
25 hold Electronic card responsible for signal discrimination in an Ice detection system.
This fixture is utilized for holding firmly the Electronic card during the operations of
primer coating, drying and Sealant/ compound filling by pouring method. The sealant is
applied on Card’s surface to defined height, covering soldering or individual electro
radio element, specified in drawings, by pouring method. The length, breadth and wall
30 heights of this fixture are made by calculating the required dimensions of the electronic
card and the permissible height of the Sealant/Compounds on the electronic Cards. The
sharp edges of fixture for Electronic Card of type-1 were removed so that the
components of assembled Electronic Card may not be harmed. Due to the flat base of
the Fixture, the Sealant/ Compound spread uniformly over the Card’s surface and also
Annexure‐II
maintains the Permissible height limit as per the drawing requirements. For making the
fixture lightweight and easy to handle, it is made from aluminum material.
Fixture 5 for Electronic Card of type-2 (referring figure 2) is specifically designed to
hold Electronic card responsible for output Signal generation in an Ice detection system.
This fixture is utilized for holding firmly the Electronic card during the operations of
primer coating, drying and Sealant/ compound filling by pouring method. The sealant is
applied on Card’s surface to defined height, covering soldering or individual electro
10 radio element, specified in drawings, by pouring method. The length, breadth and wall
heights of this fixture are made by calculating the required dimensions of the electronic
card and the permissible height of the Sealant/Compounds on the electronic Cards. The
sharp edges of fixture for Electronic Card of type-2 were also removed so that the
components of assembled Electronic Card may not be harmed. Due to the flat base of
15 the Fixture, the Sealant/ Compound spread uniformly over the Card’s surface and also
maintains the Permissible height limit as per the drawing requirements. For making the
fixture lightweight and easy to handle, it is also made from aluminum material.
Fixture for Electronic Card of type-3 (referring figure 3) is specifically designed to
20 hold Electronic card responsible for timing Signals generation in an Ice detection
system. This fixture is utilized for holding firmly the Electronic card during the operations
of primer coating, drying and Sealant/ compound filling by pouring method. The sealant
is applied on Card’s surface to defined height, covering soldering or individual electro
radio element, specified in drawings, by pouring method. The length, breadth and wall
25 heights of this fixture are made by calculating the required dimensions of the electronic
card and the permissible height of the Sealant/Compounds on the electronic Cards. The
sharp edges of fixture for Electronic Card of type-3 were also removed so that the
components of assembled Electronic Card may not be harmed. Due to the flat base of
the Fixture, the Sealant/ Compound spread uniformly over the Card’s surface and also
30 maintains the Permissible height limit as per the drawing requirements. For making the
fixture lightweight and easy to handle, it is also made from aluminum material.
Annexure‐II
Fixture for Electronic Card of type-4 (referring figure 4) is specifically designed to
hold Electronic card responsible for Signal amplification in an Ice detection system. This
Card is having its components assembled on its both the surfaces. This fixture is utilized
for 5 holding firmly the Electronic card during the operations of primer coating, drying and
Sealant/ compound filling by pouring method on each side one after another. The
sealant is applied on Card’s surface to defined height, covering soldering or individual
electro radio element, specified in drawings, by pouring method. The length, breadth
and wall heights of this fixture are made by calculating the required dimensions of the
10 electronic card and the permissible height of the Sealant/Compounds on the electronic
Cards on both the sides. The sharp edges of fixture for Electronic Card of type-4 were
also removed so that the components of assembled Electronic Card may not be
harmed. Due to the flat base of the Fixture, the Sealant/ Compound spread uniformly
over the Card’s surface and also maintains the Permissible height limit as per the
15 drawing requirements. For making the fixture lightweight and easy to handle, it is also
made from aluminum material.
The Fixture for Electronics Cards of Type 4 (referring figure 4) comprises two
frames for each side of the Electronic card. There are two dowel pins fixed on the
20 opposite corners of one frame of this fixture acts as locator to fit properly on the two
holes of the other frame of fixture. The Electronic Card is placed between these two
frames.
Fixture for Electronic Card of type-5 (referring figure 5) is specifically designed to
25 hold Electronic card responsible for Control Signal generation in an Ice detection
system. This Card also having its components assembled on its both the surfaces. This
fixture is utilized for holding firmly the Electronic card during the operations of primer
coating, drying and Sealant/ compound filling by pouring method on each side one after
another. The sealant is applied on Card’s surface to defined height, covering soldering
30 or individual electro radio element, specified in drawings, by pouring method. The
length, breadth and wall heights of this fixture are made by calculating the required
dimensions of the electronic card and the permissible height of the Sealant/Compounds
Annexure‐II
on the electronic Cards on both the sides. The sharp edges of fixture for Electronic Card
of type-5 were also removed so that the components of assembled Electronic Card may
not be harmed. Due to the flat base of the Fixture, the Sealant/ Compound spread
uniformly over the Card’s surface and also maintains 5 intains the Permissible height limit as per
the drawing requirements. For making the fixture lightweight and easy to handle, it is
also made from aluminum material.
The Fixture for Electronics Cards of Type 5 (referring figure 5) comprises two
10 frames for each side of the Electronic card. There are two dowel pins fixed on the
opposite corners of one frame of this fixture acts as locator to fit properly on the two
holes of the other frame of fixture. The Electronic Card is placed between these two
frames.
The Fixtures for Electronic Cards of type 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are designed for easy to
15 use and storage. The fixtures are metallic so there is no chance of rupture or damage.
These fixtures are durable, reliable and are re-usable.
