Said hydraulic pistons are the source of power or actuators that provides actuation to the mast while lever of the mast get pushed by the operator thus lifting the batteries for changing.
DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a Walkie (Pedestrian walk behind) Stacker for Battery swapping or changing of EVs and more complete specification can be given as it is an improved design of Self-locking Walk behind stacker with improved design of lifting forks for swapping or changing spent batteries with charged batteries of electric vehicles easily and safely with minimal amount of efforts from operator or concern person thus increasing productivity.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
As per the increasing demand of electric vehicles with rechargeable batteries, the demand of charging station is also increasing. But one of the problems associated with conventional battery stations is the technique they use for lifting the spent batteries from the battery module of E-vehicles and replacing them with charged battery, which is time consuming and a complex task for pulling out the spent battery that demands precision and perfection in operator.
One such patent disclosure having application number U.S 5638387 shows an electrically driven lift truck that has a tractive-power electric motor, another electric motor for hydraulic mechanism actuation for lifting; and batteries for driving electric motors. In said disclosure the apparatus comprises asynchronous motors for both purposes in order to obtain a long working life as well reliability and a high performance. Said motors are connected with the devices for sensing angular position and angular velocities of the motors and an electronic control unit is connected to sensor devices for controlling power supplies to the motor for providing desired velocity.
Though this is an electrically driven lifting truck but the apparatus has some drawbacks. It uses conventional design of forklifter for lifting, which is not specialized design for battery lifting and swapping and doesn’t contain self locking mechanism to avoid accidental backing and breakage. Also, it doesn’t contain specialized design of battery with improved pallet type base structure that provides easily hook-up with lift forks of the lifting apparatus. Yet another disadvantage associated with this apparatus is that it is bulky in nature thus requires more space to travel in narrow aisles.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
The principle object of present invention Specialized Walkie Stacker is to eliminate the drawbacks related with prior art by providing improved design of Walk behind stacker that is compact, light in weight and easily operable and thus eliminates the need of skilled operator.
Another such object of the invention Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide cost effective solution of bulky electric lifting fork trucks and fork hoist.
Yet another object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide improved design of lifting forks which can be connected and locked easily with batteries to be changed.
Another object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide maintenance free design of stacker that can be move easily in narrow aisles of storage area, charging and battery changing station.
Yet another object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide zero turning radius axles thus provide comfortable maneuverability in narrow aisles.
Yet another object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide mobile means that is easily transportable for changing batteries whenever and wherever needed.
Yet another object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to eliminate the requirement of permanent large constructions for lifting and swapping of heavy batteries of electric vehicles.
One such object of Specialized Walkie Stacker is to provide easily movable light in weight apparatus using straddling legs for counter balance instead of counterweight.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses pedestrian walk behind stacker for changing or swapping the spent batteries of EVs with charged one in minimal amount of time and efforts. Said stacker comprises: zero radius axle wheels for providing mobility and easy operation narrow aisle. Further, said stacker consists light in weight frame of the stacker with straddling legs that provides counter balance instead of counterweight to the weight of an object, special design of parallel forks are mounted on the extendable mast through carriage for lifting the batteries while actuated through hydraulic piston. Said hydraulic pistons are the source of power or actuators that provides actuation to the mast while lever of the mast get pushed by the operator thus lifting the batteries for changing.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
Various aspects and attendant advantages of one or more exemplary embodiments and modifications thereto will become more readily appreciated as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a side view of the walkie stacker according to present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention overcomes the aforesaid drawbacks of the above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will now be described in greater detail. Also, the following description includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these specific details are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that: without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure, various embodiments may be various changes and modifications described herein.
Before explaining the present invention, it is to be understood that the term “Walkie Stacker” here refers to the hydraulic powered lifting apparatus operated by walking behind the apparatus thus combines the features of walkie or walk behind pallet jack with features of lift truck.
The present invention discloses a walkie stacker or pedestrian walk behind stacker that is compact, light in weight and cost effective solution for swapping spent battery with charged one in electric vehicles.
Reference is first made to FIG. 1, which shows a preferred form of a walkie stacker (5) according to the present invention. Now, the advanced Walkie Stacker according to present invention mainly comprising of: a stacker body (50), a pair of specially designed lifting forks (51) that are mounted on an extendable fork mast (53) through a carriage (52), a hydraulic piston (55) being connected at the middle of the mast (53), a handheld actuating lever (56) for actuating hydraulic piston (55), stranding legs (57) and wheels (58) being configured to rotate at zero radial axle (59).
Said carriage (52) is actuated by the hydraulic piston (55) which is connected in the middle of the mast (53) for providing lifting power to the stacker (50).
The Handheld actuating lever (56) for actuating hydraulic piston (55) is placed at the bottom of the said stacker (50) which is easily accessible by the operator.
Further, said straddling legs (57) instead of counter weight provide a counter balance while lifting. Further said wheels (58) are connected at the base of the stacker and below the straddling legs (57) for providing manual mobility to the apparatus. The zero turning radius axles (59) are connected with wheels (58) for zero radius turning in narrow aisles of battery changing and storage area.
Now, said stacker also comprises a handle mechanism (54) for manually controlling the direction of operation by the operator. Aforementioned lifting forks (51) are designed especially so it can be hooked-up easily with batteries to be lifted from EV’s; the operator manually places the lifting forks (51) below the specially designed batteries to be swapped which has self-locking design with forks. The operator by pushing lever (56) of the hydraulic piston (55), lifts the said batteries from EV’s and puts it on the rack of used batteries and places fully charged battery thus providing cost effective, lightweight solution of conventional lifting trucks.
The foregoing disclosure is not intended to limit the present disclosure to the precise form or particular field of use disclosed. As such, it is contemplated that various alternative embodiments and/or modifications to the present disclosure, whether explicitly described or implied herein, are possible in light of the disclosure. Having thus described embodiments of the present disclosure, person of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that changes may be made in the form and detail without departing from the scope of the present disclosure is limited only by the claims.
