Abstract: A system (100) for pressing a plurality of stacks (102) of Hinged lid pack (HLP) blanks before stack bundling, the system (100) comprising a conveyor belt (104) for receiving the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks in the system (100). Further a statically charged chamber (106) provides negative charge to the plurality of stacks (102). Also, a pressing unit (110) for pressing each of the plurality of stacks (102), the pressing unit (110) comprising, an end plate (112) through which the each of the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks are pressed, wherein the end plate (112) is made of an insulating material.
CLIAMS:1. A system (100) for pressing a plurality of stacks (102) of hinged lid pack (HLP) blanks before stack bundling, the system (100) comprising:
a conveyor belt (104) for receiving the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks in the system (100);
a statically charged chamber (106) for providing a negative charge to the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks; and
a pressing unit (110) for pressing each of the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks after charging by the statically charged chamber (106), wherein the pressing unit (110) comprises:
an end plate (112) through which the each of the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks are pressed, wherein the end plate (112) is made of an insulating material.
2. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the insulating material is one of Teflon, nylon, polycarbonated sheet, and asbestos.
3. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the end plate (112) has a length in a range from about 140 mm to about 160 mm and a width in a range from about 40 mm to about 70 mm.
4. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the end plate (112) has a length of about 150 mm and a width of about 60 mm.
5. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the statically charged chamber (106) comprises a plurality of discharge pins (108) for providing the negative charge to the plurality of stacks (102), wherein the plurality of discharge pins (108) protrude from the statically charged chamber (106), such that each discharge pin of the plurality of discharge pins (108) is at a distance ranging from about 30 mm to about 40 mm from the plurality of stacks (102).
6. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the system (100) further comprises:
a stopper plate (116) at one end of the conveyor belt (104), wherein the stopper plate (116) is for stopping the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks; and
a pushing unit (118) for pushing one of the plurality of stacks (102) in a direction transverse to the direction of the movement of the conveyor belt (104).
7. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pressing unit (110) further comprises a pneumatic cylinder (114) coupled to the end plate (112).
8. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pressing unit (110) presses each of the plurality of stacks (102) of HLP blanks at a predefined pressure in a range from about 2.2 bar to about 2.7 bar.
