[0001] The present invention relates to trolleys. In particularly present
invention is a compact and lightweight stair climber trolley.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] A trolley is a device with wheels that a user utilizes to
transport heavy things. There are different types of the trolleys available in the market. The mostly commonly used trolley is a hand trolley. A typical hand trolley consists of two wheels at the bottom of the trolley and two handles to provide grip to the user. The user-applied force on this handles drags the trolley. The wheel provided in the trolley makes it easier for a person to move trolley anywhere while shopping in malls. These trolleys can carry different type of weights. The carrying capacity depends upon the material used to build a trolley. The hand trolleys are very useful for transport on substantially flat surfaces, or uneven surfaces with very limited height.
[0003] The wheels used in trolley are small, thereby enabling the transport
of the products easily on flat surfaces, but these trolleys are not capable of moving on stairs and rough surfaces. The person has to provide a huge effort to lift the trolley up/ down stairs.
[0004] Due to the above disadvantages, there is a need to provide a trolley
which can lift the product both uphill/downhill without giving stress to the user.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the
disadvantages of the prior art.
[0006] An object of the present invention is to provide a small in size,
light weight, and easy to handle trolley for domestic use.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a trolley for
carrying products to up/down stairs.
[0008] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a trolley
that reduces human efforts.
[0009] The foregoing and other objects of the present invention will
become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] The present invention is directed towards a trolley for the transport
of objects and in particular to a lightweight stair climber trolley. The trolley is used to climb upstairs and uneven surfaces very easily.

[0012] According to a preferred embodiment wherein the stair climber
trolley comprises, a base plate in trolley is preferably a rectangular plate on which all other parts are coupled, the handle in present trolley is made from PVC pipes, and the supporting block in trolley is preferably a rectangular block.
[0013] While the invention has been described and shown with particular
reference to the preferred embodiment, it will be apparent that variations might be
possible that would fall within the scope of the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0014] These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present
invention will become better understood with regard to the following description, appended claims, and accompanying drawings where: Figure 1 illustrates a schematic representation of the proposed trolley; and Figure 2 represent a curved wheel.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The following description includes the preferred best mode of one
embodiment of the present invention. It will be clear from this description of the invention that the invention is not limited to these illustrated embodiments but that the invention also includes a variety of modifications and embodiments thereto. Therefore the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. While the invention is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, it should be understood, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the invention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
[0016] In any embodiment described herein, the open-ended terms
"comprising," "comprises," and the like (which are synonymous with "including," "having" and "characterized by") may be replaced by the respective partially closed phrases "consisting essentially of," consists essentially of," and the like or the respective closed phrases "consisting of," "consists of, the like.
[0017] As used herein, the singular forms "a," "an," and "the" designate
both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
[0018] The term "Welding" is a fabrication process that joins materials. It
is basically the fusing of two objects together.
[0019] The term "Arc welding" is a fusion process in which two
conductive bodies brought close enough that the free electrons can jump from one conductive body to other. During this process when an electron jumps between the air gaps, it produces tremendous heat due to the friction & the resistance offered by air.
[0020] The term "Friction" is an opposing force that opposes the relative
motion of the solid object, fluid object. Friction is responsible for slowing the motion of an object. Friction is of three types: 1) static friction, 2) sliding friction, 3) rolling friction.
[0021] The present invention relates to a stair trolley for the transport of
products. In most of the industries, trolleys are normally used to transport heavy product. But these trolleys cannot move on stairs and rough surfaces. In the present invention, a trolley provided with tri-star wheel is used to hold the load on a base plate and move the load Up/down the steps. The tri-star wheels make the movement of the trolley easy on irregular surface and stairs.
[0022] Referring to Figure 1, a trolley is illustrated, wherein a base plate 1
is base for the d on which all other component are coupled, a handle 2 which is made of PVC pipe is used to push/pull the trolley, plurality of tri-star wheels 3 used to drive load to different location, a supporting block 4 in front to support the sliding object.
[0023] Referring to Figure 2, a curved wheel is illustrated, wherein vertex
7 in triangle wheel is shown, a central hole 6 of wheel where axle is connected.
[0024] The Tri-Star wheel functions as a standard wheel on the flat
ground, however, it has the ability to climb automatically once a hindrance occurs
in rolling. The Tri-Star wheel includes three tyres, each tyre is mounted to
separate shafts. These shafts are placed at the vertices of a triangle. The two tyres
5 of the tri-star wheel are placed on the ground and one tyre of tri-star wheel is
above them. The third tyre stays at the top until the lower front tyre hits an
obstruction. The obstruction prevents the lower front wheel from moving forward
however it does not change or stop the motion of the axle. This moving axle
causes the top tyre to roll forward into position and became the new lower front
10 tyre. A special wheel is required to hold the three tyres together on each side of
the shaft. The design of the square wheel became more complicated and needed to be modified. In the present invention, we use curve-spherical shaped wheel.
[0025] An axle is a central shaft for a rotating wheel or gear. In the several
15 cases, bearings are provided at the mounting points to minimize the friction.
[0026] A ball bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that uses balls to
maintain the separation between the bearings. There are various components moving relative to each other in a machine. This relative motion involves contact
20 between two different components and these contacts causes friction. The main
purpose of ball bearing is to reduce friction between inner and outer ring. Inner ring fits on a shaft, outer ring fits inside the stationary component through which the shaft passes. As the shaft rotates, along with the inner ring, balls start spinning inside the cage. And a relative motion between inner ring and outer ring is
25 established with minimal friction.
[0027] A base plate is the main part of trolley mounted on the axle. A base
plate is usually a basic part of the trolley that supports different parts of a physical construction. A PVC handle is coupled on this base plate to provide grip to the
6
user. The user drags trolley through this handle.
[0028] An electric motor is used in the trolley to lift the trolley up stair
without using human effort. The trolley provided in present invention works as a simple trolley on a normal surface, the tri-star wheels work as normal wheels without any hindrance on a normal surface. When any obstacle like uneven surface and stairs come in the site of the trolley, the tri-star wheels of trolley start to operate. The motor's function is to support the tri-star wheel by providing force to the axle. The use of a motor in the present invention is to help the user to move trolley up/down without any stress.
[0029] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with
limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is therefore contemplated that such modifications.
