Abstract: A centre stand mounting assembly for a scooter type motorcycle comprising a crank case portion provided with a through-hole; a cavity formed in the crank case on the axis of the said hole, the crank case being fixed to the said assembly by a bolt and nut, the bolt passing theough the said hole and the nut engaging with the bolt, the shape of the cavity matching the outside profile of the nut such that the nut is restrained from rotating in the cavity whenever the bolt is tightened on the said nut.
We Claim:
1. A centre stand mounting assembly for a scooter type motorcycle comprising a crank case portion provided with a through-hole; a cavity foimed in the crank case on the axis of the said hole, the crank case being fixed to the said assembly by a bolt and nut, the bolt passing through, the said hole and the rut engaging with the bolt, the shape of the cavity matching the outside profile of the nut such that the ijiut is restrained from rotating in the cavity whenever ihe boh is tightened on the said nut. I
2. A centre stand mounting assem bly fox a scooter type motorcycle substantially as hen an described with reference to, and as illustrated \ ly, the accompanying drawings.
i
This invention relates to a centre stand mounting assembly for a scooter type motorcycle.
In the conventional scooter type motorcyfcle where the engine is swingably mounted on the frame through crank case, the centre stand is mounted on thtbottom of the crank case through a structure, hi this arrangement, the structure for the centre stand is mounted on to the crank case by a bolt through fastening means wherein the thread is provided on the crank case. In such an arrangement* in case of wrong threading the whole crank case needs to be replaced. This results in higher cost for replacement, loss of productivity and higher scrap cost
An object of this invention is to providje a centre stand mounting on a scooter type motor cycli having a swing type engine, not having the above mentioned ^vsft^ic^
More particularly, this invention provides a centre stand mounting which eliminates the scrap cost, replacement cost and loss of productivity.
Another object of this invention is to provide a centre stand mounting which is durable over long use.
The centre stand mounting assembly for a scooter type motorcycle, according to this invention, comprises a crank case portion provided with a through-hole; a cavity formed in the crank case on the axis of the sa id hole, the crank case being fixed to the said assembly by a bolt and nut, the bolt passing through the said hole and the nut engaging with the bolt, the shape of the cavity matching the outside profile of the nut such that the nut is restrained from rotating in the cavity whenever the bolt is tightened| on the said nut.
The accompanying drawings illustrate, by way of example, and not by way of limitation, one of \ ossible embodiments of this invention,
Fig. 1 illustrating a sectional view of he stand assembly Fig. 2 illustrating the stand assembly and crank case.
The centre stand is indicated by S. Hhe crank case portion C is provided with a through-hole H. A cavity E is formed in the crank case on the axis of the said hole, the crank case being fixed to the said assembly by a bolt B and nut N.
The bolt passes through the said hole H and the nut N engages with the bolt, the shape of the cavity matching the outside profile of the nut such that the nut is restrained from rotating in the cavity whenever the bcjlt is tightened on the said nut.
It will be appreciated that various otto a: embodiments are possible without departing from the s<5ope and ambit of this invention.
