Abstract: A stereo image data transmitting apparatus includes an image data output unit configured to output stereo image data including left-eye image data and right-eye image data, a superimposition information data output unit configured to output data of superimposition information that is to be superimposed on images based on the left-eye image data and the right-eye image data, a disparity information output unit configured to output disparity information for giving disparity by shifting the superimposition information that is to be superimposed on the images based on the left-eye image data and the right-eye image data, and a data transmitting unit configured to transmit a multiplexed data stream including a first data stream and a second data stream, the first data stream including the stereo image data, the second data stream including the data of the superimposition information and the disparity information.
