, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to the field of computer graphics, and more specifically, to a method and system for real time stock taking system of warehouse using augmented reality technology.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Warehouse management have various processes. Stock taking is the one of the important process which is nothing but audit of existing stock.
Stock taking or inventory checking is the process of counting, weighing or otherwise calculating all items in stock and recording the results. The main purpose of stock taking is to verify the value of stock shown in the balance sheet by physical confirmation and value your stock in terms of cost and potential sales.
Stock taking is the counting of on-hand inventory. This means identifying every item on hand, counting it and summarizing these quantities by item.
In past this process is done manually. But as technology introduced in the warehouse sector, various technologies are used for stock taking system.
One of them is barcode implement. Each and every item should have barcode label.
And by scanning this barcode the items are identified and included in the stock take list. But still it is very time consuming and hectic as worker has to go to each and every item and scan the barcode of that item for stock taking.
The present invention suggests the solution to above problems. It suggests the real time stock taking system for warehouse using augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer-generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance the user's real-world experience.
It is very useful for stock taking system of warehouse management.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, stock taking system for warehouse using augmented reality technology.
Another object of the invention is, smart phone with AR feature/ AR enabled device is required
Another object of the invention is, application is installed to backend server.
Other object of the invention is, barcode of item scan by AR device.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the stock taking system for warehouse using augmented reality technology. The system and method comprising of:
The application should install at backend server. Any Augmented Reality enabled device has connected to server via Wi-Fi. Open the stock taking application (or in case of AR smart glass just wear the glass). User with AR enabled device aim the item with device. The device scan items barcode. That items all information is stored at backend server. Which is nothing but the stock taking. Staying at one place user can stock take with wide area range.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the stock taking system for warehouse using augmented reality technology.
The present invention system is comprising of contents such as;
Any Augmented Reality enabled electronic device
An application of stock taking system
All the items with barcode label on it
The present invention implemented in a combination of both hardware and software.
The present invention system is comprising of;
Step 1) Any Augmented Reality enabled electronic device with the application of stock taking application (may be smart phone or tab or AR smart glass)
Step 2) User start stock taking application
Step 3) As early as application started, the barcode of items gets scanned where the device aims
Step 4) User can scan multiple items just standing at one place
Step 5) The items which are scanned is included into stock take database
This is general overview of system. System is not bounded to this only.
The present invention helpful for this scenario.
The all warehouse items have barcode label on it, which is unique. At server, stock taking report is prepared with scanned items. Barcode labelling should be done at primary stage, so tracking of each and every item can be done.
The system has advantages such as;
It is time saving. Before this invention, the stock taking is really a hectic job. The stock taking is done manually. And user/worker has to search all warehouse for stock taking. Even if it has barcode in it still it is very hectic and difficult. The present system should scan barcodes of items which are in range.
The present system picks each and every item. No duplication or similar items are scanned.
When item is scanned, the all information related to it is stored in stock take database. Which prevents duplicate scanning of same item.
Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer-generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance the user's real-world experience.
Stock taking is also important to maintaining the right balance of stock in warehouses. Too much inventory can trigger profit losses––whether a product expires, gets damaged, or goes out of season.
In market some products related to augmented reality technology is available. These products are used to capture image and giving all data regarding target area. With the augmented reality view of that particular target area, all the information is seen on screen of user.
Some countries are implementing the similar system for Stock taking. India is not so far from this. In coming years, the automated warehouse using Augmented Reality technology would be a trend.
