Stopper For Continuous Casting

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to suppress adhesion of an intrusive element near a fitting section of a stopper, and to prevent a tip region of the stopper from cracking or delaminating due to a lack of strength. To achieve the foregoing, the present invention provides a stopper 1 for continuous casting that comprises a cavity 11 for gas distribution in the center thereof in a vertical direction, wherein: the stopper has a porous refractory material 12, which is gas-permeable, and a refractory material 13, which has a higher strength than the porous refractory material 12, disposed on an outer peripheral surface side and on an inner peripheral surface side, respectively, of at least a portion of a vertical cross-section of a tip-side region C.
