“Stowing Composition And Method(s) Thereof”

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition and method for the stowing or back-filling of excavated mines. The composition is characterized by the employment of fly ash along with specific additive(s) selected from organic polymer(s) and inorganic salt(s) or a combination thereof, wherein the said additive(s) allow the use of fine fly ash comprising particles that are usually associated with challenges pertaining to their settling properties. The stowing composition of the present disclosure ensures efficient settling of fine ash particles in stowing applications, obviating problems such as blockage and failure of barricading structures and issues associated with remnant fine ash particles in the water discharged from the stowing site.
