Surface Treated Steel Material

Abstract: This surface-treated steel material has a steel sheet, a zinc-containing plating layer formed on the steel sheet, and a film formed on the plating layer, wherein: the film has a thickness of 100 nm to 1,000 nm; the film is formed from amorphous phase A, which contains Si, C, O, P, Zn, V, and one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, and Al as constituent elements and which has Zn/Si, that is, a peak intensity ratio between Zn and Si, of 1.0 or greater and V/P, that is, a mass ratio between V and P, of 0.050 to 1.000 as measured during an EDS analysis, and amorphous phase B, which contains Si, O, and Zn and which has Zn/Si, the peak intensity ratio between Zn and Si, of less than 1.0 as measured during the EDS analysis; amorphous phase A has a Zn-content of 10 mass% or less; and in a cross-section in a thickness direction, the length of the interface between the plating layer and amorphous phase B occupies 30% or more of the length of the interface between the plating layer and the film.
