The swing arm (100) comprises a first longitudinal5 arm (110) and a second longitudinal arm (140), each of which has a first portion (112, 142) and a second portion (114, 144), a cross-member (102) extending between the first longitudinal arm (110) the second longitudinal arm (140), a first suspension bracket (160) and a second suspension bracket (170) coupled to the second portion (114, 144) of the first longitudinal arm (110) and the second longitudinal arm (140), respectively.10 A cross-sectional area (C1, C2) of the first portion (112, 142) of at least one of the first longitudinal arm (110) and the second longitudinal arm (140) is different than a cross- sectional area (C3, C4) of at least one of the second portion (114, 144) of the first longitudinal arm (110) and the second longitudinal arm (140).
