Abstract: The apparatus is a switching device for power control of electric appliances. This device can be operated by either touching it physically or by remotely issuing it commands via wireless bluetooth using a external device like a mobile phone. A micro-controller is used to interpret the signals sent in via touch or bluetooth and issues commands as per internally programmed algorithm to derive switching action for any electric appliance connected to the device. The device is capable of single and multiple switching based on circuit configuration.
CLIAMS:1) A switching device comprising of a micro-controller , electronic relays , bluetooth IC and a touch sensor with a surface.
2) Capability of the device to switch an attached appliance on or off depending on the signal received from the user via wireless bluetooth or by a physical touch.
3) Device can be used for single as well as multiple device switching depending on configuration and would be the same size as a normal household switch.
4) Users would be able to toggle the device on or off from a distance using their mobile phone running a special application to give instruction to the switch. ,TagSPECI:The invention makes all the existing present-day appliances, switches, boards etc. to be switched ON and OFF either by just a convenient touch or by bluetooth , wirelessly by toggling the power being sent to them , all through a user-friendly software application.
This is possible using latest technology comprising of a device which efficiently combines the hardware and software aspects using an AVR Micro-controller.
The micro-controller can receive a serial input from the user or it detects a “touch” on the faceplate of the switch and the program embedded into it’s Program Section can perform the computational checking of the input and performing a corresponding action, i.e. based on the request, it will switch the relay ON or OFF, which further toggles the electronic appliance connected to the relay. The user commands are transmitted to the Micro-controller through Bluetooth and via the Touch Interface as is explained further.
