Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface automatically crops a video content item in an editing mode of a video application; displays an automatically cropped area of the video content item on the display in the editing mode of the video application; and, while displaying the cropped area of the video content item on the display in the editing mode of the video application: detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface; and, in response to detecting the gesture on the touch-sensitive surface: overrides automatic cropping of the video content item by modifying the cropped area of the video content item in accordance with the gesture; and displays the modified cropped area of the video content item on the display.

Specification

Claims:1. An electronic apparatus, comprising:
a) A display unit;
b) Touch-sensitive surface unit configured to receive the gesture; and
c) A processing unit comprises of the display unit and the touch-sensitive surface unit, the processing unit is configured to:
• Automatically cropped in an editing mode of the video application in a video content item;
• Enables the editing mode of the video application automatically displays the cropped area of the video content item on the display unit; and,
• When displaying the cropped area of the video content item on the display unit in the mode of the video editing application
• Detecting a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface unit; and, in response to detecting the said gesture on the touch-sensitive surface unit: modifying the cropped area of the video content item to override the automatic cropping of the video content item; and so can be displayed on the display unit the cropped area of the modified video content item.
2. The electronic apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the cropped area of the video content item modifying comprises changing the position and adjusting size of the cropped area of the video content item.
3. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein said video content item by the size of the modified clipping region is at least a predefined minimum resolution.
4. The electronic apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the clipping region of the modified video content item comprises rotating the cropped area of the video content item.

The electronic apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said video content item of said sequence of video clips in a video application in a first video clip, wherein the processing unit is configured to: maintain the modified clipping region until the end of the first video clip, and after the next video clip automatically cropped in the video clips in the sequence of the first video clip.
6. An override automatic cropping of the video content item for a method, comprising:

Background of the Invention
The touch-sensitive surfaces as input devices for computers and other electronic computing devices has increased significantly in recent years for. exemplary touch-sensitive surface comprises a touch pad and a touch screen display. For battery-operated devices, such methods and interfaces conserve power and increase the time between battery charges. The above drawbacks and other problems associated with reduced or eliminated by the disclosed devices for a user of the electronic device having a touch-sensitive interface surface.
