Claims:We Claim:
1) The system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology comprising of;
a. Virtual Reality enabled Headset – for experiencing virtual scene;
b. Backend server – the autism children for practise social skills application is installed; and
c. Wi-Fi modem – for connectivity between backend server and virtual reality enabled devices.
2) The system claimed in claim 1 wherein, autism children can experience virtual world which would have scene and situation where autism children can learn how to behave or speak.
, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology. In particular, it is related to therapy for autism children for social skills.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and nonverbal communication.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that begins early in childhood and lasts throughout a person's life. It affects how a person acts and interacts with others, communicates, and learns. It includes what used to be known as Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders.
Prenatal viral infection has been called the principal non-genetic cause of autism. Prenatal exposure to rubella or cytomegalovirus activates the mother's immune response and may greatly increase the risk for autism in mice. Congenital rubella syndrome is the most convincing environmental cause of autism.
Many children and adults on the autism spectrum need help in learning how to act in different types of social situations. They often have the desire to interact with others, but may not know how to engage friends or may be overwhelmed by the idea of new experiences.
Those social skills include social interactions (such as sharing interests with other people), the use of non-verbal communication (such as making eye contact), and the development and maintenance of relationships (such as making friends).
Children with Autism may have difficulty developing language skills and understanding what others say to them. They also often have difficulty communicating nonverbally, such as through hand gestures, eye contact, and facial expressions.
As technology become more and more advanced, it tries to give solutions to each and every problem. The present invention discloses the system and method for autism children to practice the social skills by using virtual reality technology.
The invention application will help autism children to practise well social skills by using virtual reality application.
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds.
Virtual reality is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. Applications of virtual reality can include entertainment and educational purposes. Other, distinct types of VR style technology include augmented reality and mixed reality.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, the system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology.
Another object of the invention is, Virtual reality enabled devices are needed (such as VR headset).
Other object of the invention is, virtual world is created for autism children.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology. The invention application is installed at backend server. The application is designed in a such a way that it creates virtual scene and situation for autism children to know and practise social skills. It helps the autism children to know and to react on the scene and situation they seen in virtual world. Autism children wear virtual reality handset. Virtual reality enabled headset is connected with backend server. As autism children wear headset, he/she can see virtual scene training for practising social skills.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology.
The present invention system and method for autism children to practise social skills is comprising of components such as;
Virtual reality enabled headset
Backend server – the application of autism children to practise social skills is installed
Wi-Fi modem - for connectivity between backend server and virtual reality enabled devices such as headset
The present invention implemented in a combination of both hardware and software. The present invention discloses the system and method for autism children to practise social skills by using virtual reality technology is comprising of;
Step 1) The autism children to practise social skills application is installed at backend server
Step 2) VR enabled headset is connected with backend server
Step 3) Autism children wear VR enabled headset
Step 4) Virtual reality headset and virtual reality application stimulate virtual scene for autism children in a such way that he/she can learn and practise the social skills without fearing
This is general overview of system. System is not bounded to this only.
Here by using this invention, the autism children can see practise the social skills without any fear.
Symptoms of autism such as abnormal body posturing or facial expressions, abnormal tone of voice, avoidance of eye contact or poor eye contact, behavioural disturbances, deficits in language comprehension, delay in learning to speak, flat or monotonous speech and inappropriate social interaction.
The present invention helps the autism children to practise social skills with the help of virtual reality technology. By wearing virtual reality enabled headset autism children can experience the virtual scene where such scene and situation are created the autism children can learn and practise the social skill.
There are some advantages of present invention such as;
It helps the autism children to improve the voice tone, to improve the eye contact while talking with other person, to control on repetitive movements.
As autism children practise the social skills using virtual reality technology, the main advantage is that safety. The autism children get anxiety easily due to other people. So, with the help of this invention they can practise how to become social without any fear.
Virtual reality simulates experience to patient in such a way that patient can see virtual world which is actual real in nature. Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds.
