“System And Method For Capacity Monitoring For Freight Shipping Using Blockchain Technology”

Abstract: The system and method for capacity monitoring for freight shipping by using blockchain technology. Capacity monitoring for freight shipping application is installed on blockchain backend server. Vehicle is attached with number of sensors for detecting amount of vehicle space occupied by commodity. Sensors send data of free space of vehicle to cloud with the help of Internet of things (IoT). And cloud send data to backend server if there is any change in data. New block is created to every new entry of vehicle which have smart agreement between vehicle owner and transport company.

, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for capacity monitoring for freight shipping using blockchain technology.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Freight shipping is the process of transporting commodities, goods and cargo by land, sea or air. Common types of freight shipping over the road include truckload, less than truckload (LTL) and intermodal. Freight itself can be defined as the goods transported by truck, train, ship or plane.
Transport capacity is the number of persons, weight or volume of the load which can be carried by means of transport under given conditions.
The concept of capacity management originates from production planning and control. Capacity can be defined as the potential of an economic or technical entity of any. Type, size and structure within a period of time.
In transportation sector, freight vehicle is loaded with commodities or goods or cargo. It may happen sometimes, the full capacity of vehicle is not loaded, but agent or mediator tell transporter that the vehicle fully carried the particular goods.
To keep check on this point, currently there is no such system. Transport agent or mediator plays vital role in this process. Transport company has to keep faith on agent. Which can cause money loss, as transport company has to pay for whole vehicle space.
The present disclosed invention solves the above problem.
It provides system and method for capacity monitoring for freight shipping by using block chain technology.
Blockchain is a distributed ledger, which simply means that a ledger is spread across the network among all peers in the network, and each peer holds a copy of the complete ledge.
More specifically, Blockchain is essentially a way of keeping records and can be used in almost any product that uses some sort of record keeping or database management.
With the help of blockchain technology, the capacity monitoring can be done with transparency. No data could be forged. And monitoring can be done without any interference by others.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, capacity monitoring system using blockchain technology.
Another object of the invention is, it checks whether all capacity of freight vehicle if used or not.
Another object of the invention is, it checks loading and unloading of any goods.
Other object of the invention is, prevent fraud.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses a method, system or computer program for capacity monitoring for freight shipping using blockchain technology. The system and method for capacity monitoring is comprising of;
Blockchain application – for capacity monitoring of freight vehicle
Number of sensors installed in shipping vehicle – for detecting the amount of space taken up in a shipment
Backend server – All data related to shipping of commodities is stored in server.
With help of sensors shippers and transportation companies can detect the amount of space taken up in a shipment and determine cost accordingly, transmitting all of this information to the blockchain.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses a method, system or computer program for capacity monitoring by using blockchain technology.
Blockchain is, in essence, a digital database (or ledger) distributed across a network of computers.
The records are protected by cryptography and are, therefore, protected against human error, editing and removal. The versatility of blockchain means it is being widely considered as a way to manage financial transactions, asset transfers and regulatory obligations. In particular, blockchain is now seen by many as the future of various industries due to its transparency.
The system and method for capacity monitoring of freight shipping vehicle is comprising of contents;
Blockchain application – for capacity monitoring of freight vehicle
Number of sensors installed in shipping vehicle – for detecting the amount of space taken up in a shipment
Backend server – All data related to shipping of commodities is stored in server
The system and method for capacity monitoring by using blockchain technology is comprising of the steps are as;
Step 1) Backend server has to installed capacity monitoring system application
Step 2) The database for each freight vehicle has to be created and linked with application
Step 3) Number of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors are installed in freight vehicles to detect the amount of space taken up in a shipment
Step 4) The record is stored in database in cryptographic form and new block is created for particular freight vehicle
Step 5) Hash is created for new block and attached to blockchain
Step 6) Sensors sense how much space taken in a shipment and how much is vacant
Step 7) Sensors send data to cloud using Internet of things
Step 8) Cloud compare this new data with previous data of freight vehicle
Step 9) If there is change in data, the new data is stored in database in cryptographic form
Step 10) Block of particular freight vehicle is updated with new data
A hash is unique identity.
The data on Blockchain is immutable, auditable and decentralized so cannot be changed by anyone except authority.
Any team member of transportation authority can see the status of particular freight vehicle about capacity monitoring. But no one can change the status. This is the unique feature of blockchain, that is, immutable and distributed.
Blockchain combined with modern technologies can create a transparent capacity monitoring system.
Blockchain’s distributed nature enables an implementation method which puts transport authority and team member in the same network. Any team member can easily get information regarding any freight vehicle.
Take an example, suppose one freight vehicle has agreement with particular transport company. The particular commodity transportation is allocated to that vehicle. As per invention, when any new vehicle is introduced to transport company, the data related to it is saved in database in cryptographic form. The hash is created for every vehicle. And block is created for it. This block of data is attached to blockchain of particular transport company. Sensors are attached to vehicle for detecting the used space of vehicle. Sensors data sent to the cloud computing using Internet of things. At cloud the old recorded data and new data is compare. If there is any difference found, the new data is sent to the blockchain server. So, transportation authority can monitor capacity of freight vehicle by remote.
Take another example, if any vehicle driver or agent try to make fraud such as theft or illegal selling, the transport authority can know immediately and keep track of commodity with help sensors attached to vehicle.

Main advantage of the invention is that any person from transport chain can know the status of capacity of vehicle as blockchain technology has distributed network. But no one can change the status of capacity of vehicle as blockchain technology is immutable structure.
It prevents any theft and forge record of commodity loading and unloading.
Blockchain acts as the backbone as it offers transparency from the onset.
