, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction material replenishment by using Internet of Things (IoT). The present invention relates generally to material replenishment for construction industry.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In Construction sector, project planning is the specific process where construction managers use to lay out, how they will manage and execute a construction project, from designing the structure to ordering materials to deploying workers and subcontractors to complete various tasks. It is so lengthy process, which includes subcontracts for completion of project.
Materials management is a process for planning, executing and controlling field and office activities in construction. The goal of materials management is to ensure that construction materials are available at their point of use when needed. Armed with this vital information, clients can be well informed about the necessary arrangements that will lead to a functional and financially viable project.
Construction requires an adequate supply of materials to ensure the smoothness of the project. However, the late supply of materials often occurs at the site due to poor scheduling caused by human error.
Currently, manual stock taking is done, to check which material needed urgently in near future. But if somehow the manual checking is not done properly, replenishment of urgent material can be delayed, which can be caused delay in project. This delay affects budget of construction site.
The present invention solves the above problem with the help of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. With the help of internet of things enabled sensors construction supervisor can come to know which material is needed urgently and replenish immediately.
The phrase the Internet of Things (IoT) means any object or machine component can have sensors installed to monitor operating conditions, performance levels and/or physical states. In the construction industry, this commonly refers to telematics. The Internet of Things isn't just permeating the construction industry.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and so on which enable these objects to collect and exchange data.
The concept of IoT has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction sector is material replenishment.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is that, the system and method for construction material replenishment by using Internet of Things (IoT).
Another object of the invention is that, easy tracking materials.
Another object of the invention is that, easy replenishment of materials.
Other object of the invention is that, prevent material misuse.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction material replenishment by using Internet of Things (IoT). The construction material replenishment application is installed at backend server. At very initial stage the rack where material is stored is attached with internet of things enabled sensors. The sensors sense when material get used. When material get used it sense it and send data to backend server. The server then message to construction team member to replenish particular material to avoid any delay in working.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction material replenishment by using Internet of Things (IoT).
Internet of Things (IoT) has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction is construction material replenishment.
The method and system for material replenishment used for construction site by using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of:
Backend server – storing data from smart sensors
Sensors – sense whether particular material is available or not and send data to backend server
Wi-Fi modem – maintain connectivity between backend server and sensors
The various sensors such as strain sensors, photodetectors, microphones, spillage sensors are arranged at bottom of rack to form mesh arrangement of sensors.
The each and every rack which is used for material storage has attached with internet of things enabled sensor in such a way that to form mesh arrangement of sensors. This sensor send data to backend server when material is picked from rack.
The construction material replenishing using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of following steps;
Step 1) The construction material replenishment application is installed at backend server
Step 2) Assign each and every rack with unique id number
Step 3) The number of sensors is installed at the bottom of each rack
Step 4) The sensors are arranged in a such way to form mesh arrangement of sensor
Step 5) When any material from rack is picked, the sensor senses it, and transferred data to product count values
Step 6) The product count values are transferred to the backend server
Step 7) Construction team member can replenish the rack, when rack is empty
This is the basic model of construction material replenishment. And scope of invention is not limited to this only.
The construction material replenishment by using Internet of Things (IoT) has some advantages such as:
Easy Replenishment – As racks are capable of monitoring data pertaining to the material placed on them, they send real time updates to the construction team so as to enable them to restock the racks as and when required.
Tracking misplaced items - These are various instances where material get misplaced, causing a dent to the construction bottom line. Invention can help construction team to curb the problem of misplaced material by alerting them through notifications and allowing them to look into the matter without causing any damage to the construction management.
Save time and money – As it informs construction team member to replenish, it saves time of waiting for material replenishment. Due to time saving it also, save money, which is beneficial to budget of construction.
