, Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction planning by using big data technology. The invention is related to construction sector, which are now well developed due to upcoming technologies. Big data is one of the best technologies which can be effectively used for construction.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Construction planning involves identifying all the required steps to build a structure, splitting them into defined activities, ordering these steps logically, and determining the necessary materials, manpower, and equipment.
In Construction sector, project planning is the specific process where construction managers use to lay out, how they will manage and execute a construction project, from designing the structure to ordering materials to deploying workers and subcontractors to complete various tasks.
It is so lengthy process, which includes subcontracts for completion of project.
The project planning phase is a crucial step that must be completed prior to breaking ground. During this phase, construction company will plan, analyse, and establish the anticipated needs and hurdles for construction project. Planning includes all parties involved; owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Armed with this vital information, clients can be well informed about the necessary arrangements that will lead to a functional and financially viable project.
Currently, the construction planning is done with the help of paper work. No such system is available which gives the building design and modelling itself, environmental data, stakeholder input, and social media discussions, can be used to determine not only what to build, but also where to build it.
The present invention gives the solution to above problems. The present invention discloses the system and method for construction planning by using big data technology.
Big Data Technology can be defined as a Software-Utility that is designed to Analyse, Process and Extract the information from an extremely complex and large data sets which the Traditional Data Processing Software could never deal with.
Big data, including building design and modelling itself, environmental data, stakeholder input, and social media discussions, can be used to determine not only what to build, but also where to build it.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is that, the system and method for construction planning by using big data technology.
Another object of the invention is that, the system gives information about building design.
Another object of the invention is that, the system gives information about environmental data.
Another object of the invention is that, the system gives information about stakeholder input.
Other object of the invention is that, the system gives information about social media discussions.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction planning by using big data technology. Construction planning application is installed at planning team member’s smart phone. With the help of big data technology, planning team member gets information about building design, environmental data, stakeholder input and social media discussions about construction project through the invention application.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the system and method for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for construction planning by using big data technology.
Big data is the vast volume of structured or unstructured data that is readily available at our collective fingertips. These large data sets are analysed to reveal previously unknown patterns and provide insights into businesses, human behaviour, and more. Big data analysis is used for everything from financial services, to gauging someone’s productivity, to even monitoring the weather.
Big data provides construction companies with knowledge that can be used to improve planning. Better planning means more accurate budget estimates and a better understanding of timelines and costs. Data analyzation can also mean more insight that can be valuable to managers and contractors.
The key feature of big data is to analyse, understand and interpret it in order to give user a full a picture as possible about the construction planning.
The system and method for bridge maintenance by using big data technology is comprising of the contents such as;
Any electronic device having internet connection
Any open-source framework like Hadoop for data analysis which stored data on big data.
A web application for construction planning
Big data consists of five stages such as-
Data sources- web and social media, machines, Sensing, IoT
Content format – structured, semi-structured, unstructured data
Data stores – document oriented, column oriented, graph database, key value
Data Staging – cleaning, transform and normalization
Data processing – Batch and real time

The system and method of construction planning by using big data technology is comprising of the following steps such as;
Step 1) Web application for construction planning is created and data for that web application is provided by big data
Step 2) User/planning team member check in website for construction planning
Step 3) User/planning team member select construction project from the list of future construction projects
Step 4) User/planning team member get information such as building design, environmental data, stakeholder input and social media discussions of selected project
Here, the role of big data technology is as of;
Big data is the analytical approach to accumulating and interpreting all of the data sets for trends and revelations and can be helpful in construction planning of projects.
Big data, including building design and modelling itself, environmental data, stakeholder input, and social media discussions, can be used to determine not only what to build, but also where to build it. Big data, give all over idea about the construction project and its future picture and value. So with this information, construction planning team decide which process should be taken into account to avoid any delay or any loss.
Use of big data is looking promising in the construction field and it can become a standard in the future.
Construction projects create a lot of data. In the past, much of that data was unstructured and siloed. Data was collected, often on paper, and filed away once a project was completed. That’s been changing over the past several years as construction companies are realizing the benefits and insights that big data, predictive analytics and real-time data sharing can unlock.
Construction firms are now using data to make better decisions, increase productivity, improve jobsite safety and reduce risks. With artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, firms can turn the mountains of data they have collected over the years on projects to predict future outcomes on projects and gain a competitive advantage when estimating and bidding on construction projects.
There are many issues that construction company’s need to solve in order to use all this data in a meaningful way. Companies need to be more willing to share data with other stakeholders, find ways to centralize and structure data and make it easily accessible using cloud solutions and eliminate data silos is necessary in order to unlock the true potential of big data. Interoperability between software solutions and analytics tools and data capturing devices is another hurdle that needs to be solved for companies to use data in different ways.
Big data have some advantages for the invented system, such as;
With the help of big data, construction planning team can share data with other stakeholders, find ways to centralize and structure data and make it easily accessible using cloud solutions and eliminate data silos is necessary in order to unlock the true potential of big data.
As AI and machine learning software technology advances and becomes more readily available, construction companies will be able to use a combination of internal and external data sets to predict future outcomes on projects. Data analytics will help firms determine the most profitable projects to pursue and how to manage them efficiently. This will allow them to improve quality and increase productivity by shortening construction times, lowering costs and reducing risks.
