System And Method For Controlling Access To A Service Or To A Place

Abstract: ijThe invention relates to a computerized system and method for controlling access to a service and/or to a place of the type comprising access management devices (1 to 5) making it possible to deliver to a user an access permission or to permit or validate access by a user to this service and/or to this place. It finds an application in particular in the control of access to a transport network such as an underground or metro transport network comprising access management devices such as access gates devices for selling and/or validating material or virtual transport tickets. Each access management device is identified by a device identifier IDD stored in a database (6). Means of control (7) of the access management devices make it possible to control the operation of these devices. The database comprises information (8 to 17) to be broadcast identified by an information identifier IDI also stored in the base (6). At least one determined device from among the access management devices is associated with at least one information broadcasting means (18 to 27). The control means (7) make it possible to associate in the database the identifier of at least one determined item of information to be broadcast with the identifier of the determined device so as to allow the management of the broadcasting by the broadcasting means associated with the determined device of the item of information determined.

Specification

The present invention relates to a system and a method for control of access to a service and/or a place of the type including access management features allowing to issue a user access permission, or to authorize or validate the access by a user to this service and/or this place. She includes an application to control access to a network of transportation, such as a subway or metro network, including devices of access management such as that of access doors, devices sales and/or validation of physical or virtual transport titles.

As part of a service such as a transport network, as a network of subway for example, it is desirable to be able to broadcast information such as service announcements or advertisements.

These information, including service announcements, for example disseminated through media of advertisement stickers.

But their implementation is complicated and often requires an interruption of traffic or operations, especially when the ads appear at the level of a device of access such as a gate to access management.

Moreover, stickers media tend to come unstuck in time, and need to be replaced, which multiplies the interventions.

Also, they leave traces that are difficult to remove when removing the ad which increases in general disruption, and they must be provided for broadcast over a relatively long period, which does not always match the type of information you want to disseminate.

In addition, it is not possible to manage the dissemination of information, including those of type ad, as in a conventional system dedicated to the management of the dissemination of such information, that is, you cannot manage booking (place and time) ad space, that can not follow the ads in spaces provided , and you cannot manage the billing of the ads.

One of the goals of the invention is to solve the aforementioned problems. Thus, the invention has objective to propose a system and a computerized method for access control to position and remove quickly, and with minimal operational disruption of information such as advertisements or service announcements, using the resources of access control such as devices of access to the access control system (gates of access management ,

devices sales and/or validation of securities physical or virtual transport in a transport network,...), and also allow the management of the dissemination of information, including tracking and billing of the dissemination of such information by the access control system itself.

So, the invention has a computerized control of access to a service and/or a place, including several devices able to issue an access permit, or to authorize or validate access, audit service and/or held by a user, access management object, according to a first appearance, identifying each of the devices of access being identified by a management device the system includes a database in which are stored the device IDs, and ways to control devices of access management to control the operation of devices of access management.

The database includes information to disseminate identified each by one identifying information also stored in the database, at least a device determined among the features of access management is associated with at least a means of dissemination of information, and the means of control are able to associate the database identifier information at least determined to broadcast to ID determined device ensure that allow management of broadcasting, by means of dissemination associated with the specific device, specific information.

According to some embodiments, the system also includes one or more of the following features, plug (s) isolation or following all technically possible combinations:

-one of the features of access management and/or a module of authorization accessible remotely via a computer network, are able to issue permits to access the service and/or place on a medium such as a ticket or a magnetic type or contactless card, and said access management device and/or the said module authorization are able to deliver an associated marker to identifier information determined on a medium such as a ticket or a magnetic map or without contact;

-the specific device includes a media drive to access connected to the means of control, and the reader is able to read marker in kind support to allow the management of the dissemination of information;

-the means of dissemination is able to receive the support of associated marker temporarily to identifier information determined;

-the means of dissemination includes a physical information medium;

-the means of broadcasting includes at least a fixed slide on the, or close to, device specific, and the physical media is placed on or in a panel inserted into the slide.

-the means of dissemination includes a means of electronic dissemination of specific information, in the form of an audible and/or Visual information, arranged on the, or close to, device specific, and the means of control are able directly control the electronic dissemination of information determined by the means of dissemination;

-the specified device is a gateway or an ATM machine access permissions or a ticket office of permissions of access or a reading device and/or validation of access privileges, including for access to a network of transportation.

Also disclosed, according to a second aspect, a computerized method of controlling access to a service and/or a place, by the issuance of an authorization to access, or authorization or validation of access, audit service and/or held by a user, through several devices of access management each identified by an ID stored in a database and each device controlled by means of control.

The database includes information to disseminate identified each by one identifying information also stored in the database, at least a device determined among the features of access management is associated with at least a means of dissemination of information, and the method includes the association or the Association, in the database, by means of control , of ID information at least determined to broadcast with the identifier specified device, so to allow the management of broadcasting, by means of dissemination associated with the specific device, specific information.

Following some modes of implementation, the process also includes one or more of the following features, plug (s) isolation or following all technically possible combinations:

-the method includes the electronic dissemination of information determined by the means of dissemination, in the form of an audible and/or Visual information, and control direct by means of controlling the electronic dissemination of information determined by the means of dissemination.

This way, the system and the method of the invention used to position and remove quickly and without or with minimal operational disruption, of information, such as service announcements or advertisements, on the features of management of the system of access control such as the gates of access, devices sales and/or validation of securities physical or virtual transport in a transport network. This is particularly important to minimize interruptions of traffic in a transport network.

The system and the method also allow the management of the dissemination of information, including tracking and billing of the dissemination of such information by the access control system itself.

This management of the dissemination of information, integrated with the access control system, can be achieved for example by the operator of the system of access control, or as a service by a company of maintenance of the equipment and devices in the system.

The system and the method of the invention are thus particularly suited to type ad information, because the number of devices to access management in a system of access control can be important. Indeed, one of transport such as a subway system can easily understand one hundred stations with an average 15 devices of access by station management, so at least 1500 advertising locations.

In addition, matching locations to devices of access management in a control system of access to a network of transport, such as the doors of access or selling machines, are necessarily locations associated with a

maximum passage of users, and the ads can easily be targeted based on activities, such as businesses or events, nearby.

Also, ads can be easily positioned or removed based on certain characteristics of ad: ad for events short or very short (for example from one week to half a day) as a sporting event, a trade promotion; announcement for permanent or semi-permanent event like the presence of a mall rent year-round.

The characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear reading the description that follows, given only as an example, and without limitation, in reference to the annexed following figures:

-figure 1: schematic representation of an example of the invention's access control system;

-figure 2: schematic representation of an example of a way of disseminating information associated with a management device access in the system of figure 1.

-Figure 3-5: schematic representations of a management mechanism of the system of figure 1, associated with a way of disseminating information with respectively an information being disinsertion, an information being inserted, and inserted so being broadcast information.

An example of a control system for access to a service and/or a place according to the invention is represented schematically in figure 1. It can be for example of access to a network of transport such as a subway network.

In this example, the means of control 7 implemented on a computer system 7, to control a number of access management features 1 to 5.

In particular, these methods of control 7 ensure the configuration and the supervision of access management features 1 to 5. They also allow to manage the users of the system, such as passengers in the case of a transport network

These methods of control 7 can understand, or be coupled to, a platform accessible remotely by users, via a computer network, to implement loyalty of users operations and purchase remote access authorization titles or titles of transport in the case of access to a network of transport.

These 7 methods of control may also include a management module of the media used by users to access the service, such as contactless cards hosting users and ticket information.

Access management features 1 to 5 are intended to issue a permission to access, such as a ticket, allow access from playback (with or without contact) of a ticket, or to validate access to a subsequent ticket validity check.

Some 1-5 access management devices can provide many of the functions listed above.

In the example in figure 1, 1 and 2 devices are devices of access authorization, respectively type double wicket and simple barrier.

3 is a validation mechanism of access, which is particularly used to read and validate access such as a ticket. The device 3 can be combined with the device 1 or 2 device. It is used to validate the ticket and to open the double door of the device 1 or gate of the device 2.

This device 3 can also be arranged inside or outside the service area, without being associated with a device 1, 2 of access permission. For example, in the case of a control system of access to a network of transport by bus or subway, the device 3 can be placed inside the bus or the subway.

4 device is a device that allows to issue a permission to access, such as an ATM tickets allowing a user to buy a ticket.

5 is another device to issue a permission to access, such as a window allowing a user to buy a ticket with an operator.

These devices 1 to 5 are related to the means of control 7 for the purposes of checking their highest explained such operation.

7 means of control are associated with a database 6 allowing to store and manage device (IDD), as well as other useful information identifiers to the control and management of functioning devices (location information, type of management access, etc.).

The database also allows to store information to be disseminated within the system of control of access to the service and/or place, such as service announcements or advertisements. These information are identified by identifiers of information (IDIj) also stored in the database 6. Other features attached to disseminate information may also be stored in the data base 6 (broadcast period, tariff in the case of a paid circulation, valid from date, etc.).

Some devices 1-5 access management, we associate one or more means of dissemination of information 18 to 27.

Thus the device 1 comprises two mass media 18 and 19, which an example of achievement will be detailed further in reference to figures 2 to 5, at the level of the two leaves of the gate double.

2 device comprises means 20 of dissemination of information, in the form of a suspended 20 Panel under the access bar.

3 device comprises means 21 dissemination of information, which can take the form of a panel 21 separated from the device 3 itself, or which can be arranged for example on one of the sides of the device 3 (not visible in figure 1 insofar as the device 3 is seen from the front).

4 device includes a 22 information dissemination means, which can here take again the form of a panel separated from the device 4 itself, or which can be arranged for example on one of the sides of the 4 device (not visible in figure 1 as the device 4 is seen from the front) or even fixed laterally on this device 4.

The device 5 includes several 23 to 27 information dissemination means, which take the form of 23 to 27 distributed signs in different areas of the front wall of this device 5 type-desk selling.

7 controls are used to associate, or unlink, information spread 8 to 17, with 1 to 5 access management device, combining in the 6 database all or part of the IDs (j) 8 to 17 to disseminate information, to all or part of 1 to 5 devices (IDDj) IDs.

This way, controls not only realize the control of the operation of 1 to 5 devices, such as explained above, but also allow the management of dissemination of information 8 to 17 by the means of broadcasting 18 to 27 associated with 1 to 5 devices.

Thus, the 8 and 9 information respectively on the means of disseminating 18, 19 associated with the device 1, under control of the means of control 7.

Similarly, the 10, 1 1 and 12 information respectively on the means of dissemination, 20, 21, 22 respectively associated with the devices 2, 3 and 4, under control of the means of control 7.

Finally, the 13-17 information respectively on the media associated with the device 1, under control of the means of control 7 23 to 27.

8 to 17 information is therefore associated with one and only 1 to 5 device, whereas a device 1 to 5 is associated with one or more information 8 to 17.

A user can therefore procure, for example with the 4 automatic device or device type window 5, or even remotely, via a module of authorization accessible remotely by a network connection, a permission to access the service and/or place eventually paid, delivered on a physical or virtual medium, such as a card or a magnetic ticket or with a bar code a card or a ticket without contact.

In addition, a user can also available, from the same 4 automatic device or device type 5 window, or through the same module of remote access authorization, support 29 identification of marker 29 associate information to ID IDIj of the information in the database 6.

Other details on the marker 29 and 29 support are given later in reference to figures 2 to 5 for an example of a means of dissemination of information and access management device.

Therefore, a user is a user of the service, such as a passenger of a transport network, either a user, advertiser or operator wishing to disseminate information 8-17 on one of the devices 1-5 via one of the means of broadcasting 18 to 27, or both at the same time.

When using the device 37, 38 to unlock the means of locking 35, 35', the leaf spring 34 pushes all in part outside the 30 slide, which facilitates the withdrawal.

In another variant, information can be distributed electronically, without the use of a physical medium.

It can be for example a Visual or audio information. The corresponding means of dissemination so includes a means of electronic dissemination of information, such as a screen, or a speaker.

Information, what that is its nature, will be placed near an access management device and associated with the latter to enjoy the reading system such as the drive above 32, which allows the identification of information in the system and its management by means of control 7.

The invention system including, via the means of control 7, to generate reports, such as the list of users with an information to be distributed in the form of a support with marker 29 identifying such information, the list of information products sold and their amounts in the case of paid circulation of information, the list of information being broadcast the list of devices of access management, so locations, for which there was the most sold for broadcast over a period of time, for the purpose of adjustment of selling prices information.

We can predict that the association of an information to be distributed with access management device to face by period, for example once per day, with a process to list the information which become valid at the beginning of this period, and generate or update an association table that allows the real-time monitoring of the information on the means of dissemination associated with each device access management.

This description is given as an example and is not exhaustive of the invention.

In particular, the representation of figure 1 is purely schematic and aims to give a functional view of an example of system according to the invention. Thus, the 6 database is represented separate computer system 7 on which 7 controls are implemented, but in practice, this 6 database can itself be implemented in this computer system 7, or in a separate, distant or close system, networked.

Also, the 6 database is represented as a unique means of monobloc information storage, but can just as well be implemented in way over several physically distinct, possibly remote storage media, networked.

Moreover, the means of dissemination of information represented in figures 2 to 5 18 is just an example of means of physical distribution of information. Other means, presenting another form, and adapted to the association with a 1 to 5 determined access management device, can be used.

This description is given as an example and is not exhaustive of the invention.

In particular, in the open-ended examples, the determined access management device is a gateway 1, 2, or an ATM 3 access permissions, or a Ticket Office 4 permissions of access, or even a reading device and/or validation 5 access permissions, especially for access to a network of transport. More generally the specified device is associated with a way of reading can read the media associated with the information to be distributed to allow the dissemination of information management.

CLAIMS

1. -Computerized system control of access to a service and/or a place, including several devices access management (1 to 5) to issue an authorization to access, or to authorize or validate access audit service and/or held by a user, each of the devices of access (1 to 5) management being identified by one ID device (IDD), the system including also a database (6) in which are stored IDs device (IDD (,), and ways to control devices of access management (1 to 5) able to control the operation of devices of access management (1-5), (7)

characterized in that database (6) includes information (8-17) to disseminate identified each by one identifying information (IDIj) also stored in the database (6), in what at least a specific device (1 to 5) among devices of access (1 to 5) management is associated with at least a way of disseminating information (18-27) , and that the means of control (7) are able to associate in the database (6) ID (IDIj) information at least a determined (8-17) to broadcast to ID (IDDj) determined system (1 to 5), so to allow the management of broadcasting, by means of dissemination (18 to 27) associated with the specified device (1-5) information determined (8-17).

2 - system according to claim 1, in which one of the features of management access (1 to 5) and/or a module authorization accessible remotely via a computer network, are able to issue permits to access the service and/or place on a medium such as a ticket or card type magnetic or contactless, characterized in that said management access (1 to 5) device and/or the said module authorization are able to deliver a marker (29) partner to the identifier (IDIj) (8) specific information on a medium (29) such as a ticket or card type magnetic or contactless.
