System And Method For Extraction Of Oil Vapor From Bearing Housing For Hydro Generators/Synchronous Motors
Abstract: This invention relates to a system and method of extraction of oil vapor from bearing housing for hydro generators/synchronous motors. The system includes an oil vapor extraction equipment (300) as a primary part that is connected to the plurality of bearing housing by means of a plurality of pipes (401, 402) and manifold (403). The oil vapor extraction equipment (300) further includes a side channel blower (302), an oil filter chamber (301), filtering element (308) and an oil tank (304). The oil vapor is extracted from the plurality of bearing housings by means of a side channel blower (302) and is fed into the oil filter chamber (301). The oil vapor condenses while passing through the filtering element (308) to the oil filter chamber (301). These droplets are further collected into the oil tank (304) due to the action of gravity for suitable drainage outside the generator barrel.
