1. A system for fact checking digital articles posted on a website, comprising:
a. a software application with artificial intelligence technology;
wherein, the digital articles which are posted online on the website are requested to be checked for facts by the users in order to curb spreading hoax or misleading information through the websites.
2. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein, the users can request the digital article to be checked for facts.
3. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein, the digital articles which are found to be hoax or misleading, are saved in the databased, where the said digital article cannot be reposted again on the website.
4. The method for recycling the damaged electronic items, comprising of:
a. uploading a digital article by a user on the website;
b. another user prompts or requests the website to check for facts;
c. fact checking of the digital article with the help of AI;
d. sending private notification to the users related to the status of the digital article about its authenticity;
e. saving the status of the authenticity of the digital article in the database;
f. the digital articles which are found to be misleading are automatically deleted.
, Description:Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention is generally related to a software application, and more particularly for the detection of hoax news or fake news being circulated to prevent misleading of the website users by fact checking process.
Background of the Invention
Recently, use of mobile phone, smart phone etc. has become the necessity in human lives and for individual of all ages or sexuality. With the growth of technology and use of electronic items along with digitalization of various fields, the circulation of fake news and articles has also increased. Various websites and users create fake news for popularity with very less or no evidence, which might be harmful or deteriorating for other individuals’, and such issues might even lead to disastrous outcomes where such fake news might end an individual’s career or might even lead to an individual’s death fearing damage in reputation, and many other reasons.
Along with the digitization of news and news related websites and blogs and so on, the spreading of news is really fast, as the individuals can share the news link or articles or blog links with their friends and family, which can be further shared by them. The spreading of news cannot be stopped which is due to the use of electronic items and internet which makes the process lot easier.
In order to avoid such unusual circumstances, there is a need for a system where a system can detect the hoax or fake messages and the same notification is provided to the users privately without being displayed online to the news creator.
Object of the Invention
The primary object of present invention is to provide a system to detect the fake news.
Another object of present invention is to provide a system which can detect the fake news and notify the user privately.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system which can detect the fake news which is being circulated on the website through blog or article or any other form and prevent further sharing of the item on the website.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention discloses a system for detection of the hoax news or fake news being circulated on the website. The components of the present invention include a software application with text matching feature which operates using artificial intelligence technology, and a user interface which enables interaction between the individual and the electronic device.
According to the present invention, the website allows the individuals to post any news or article on their accounts or blogs which can be viewed by all the users of the website even who do not have an account on the website. Whenever an individual posts a news article or any such article, the software application with artificial intelligence technology identifies the key words in the article and the same is used to search other existing websites and blogs for the same text or data and also finds the source of the article. The obtained results are matched with the authentic websites and also the source of the article to know the percentage of authenticity. If the percentage of authenticity is lesser than the set threshold, then the article is considered to be a hoax or counterfeit and the same is notified to the user in the form of a pop-up message disclosing that the article is showing hoax news.
In an additional embodiment of the present invention, the users of the website can also request the website to authenticate the article. In addition to this, in the matter of criminal news or high-profile case news is being circulated, the investigative details which are provided by the government which is visible to everyone is searched, and is matched with that data.
According to the present invention, once plurality of users receive the notification about an article whether it is genuine or counterfeit, then they can flag the article, and once the set threshold of the number of flags is reached, the article is automatically deleted from the website. The notifications which are sent to the plurality of users about the authenticity of the article are not visible to the creators of the article on the website, and are only visible to the users who open the article link.

Detailed Description of Invention:
The present invention discloses a system for detection of the hoax news or fake news being circulated on the website.
FIG. 1 illustrates the connectivity of the components of the system for detection of the hoax or counterfeit articles posted on the website. With reference to FIG 1, the system is disclosed comprising of components including a software application with text matching feature which operates using artificial intelligence technology, and a user interface which enables interaction between the individual and the electronic device through which the user can access the website.

FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary flowchart disclosing the method for detection of the hoax or counterfeit articles posted on the website. With reference to FIG 2, the method involved in detection of hoax news is disclosed, wherein whenever an individual posts a news article or any article which is requested to be authenticated by a user, the software application with artificial intelligence technology identifies the key words in the article and the same is used to search other existing websites and blogs for the same text or data and also finds the source of the article. The obtained results are matched with the authentic websites and also the source of the article to know the percentage of authenticity. According to the present invention, the website processes the uploaded article to check the facts whether they are true or misleading, by comparing them with the one or more sources of the article. In case the article includes any images, the images are also checked which normally can mislead the public as they can be easily modified by addition or deletion of one or more important aspect. In case the image depicted in the article has any text, then the image is then converted into text form and then checked and analysed with the source. The information which is available in the uploaded article is converted into searchable format by the artificial intelligence technology in the application which makes the search more precise and accurate. .
With reference to the processing steps involved in the present invention, the application checks for the facts which should be more than the set threshold in order to validate the news article. The identified keywords help in determining the accuracy and quality of the information present in the article.
In an additional embodiment of the present invention, the news articles which are in different language, for example a foreign language, then the text in the news article is converted to English language and then a search is conducted and then the facts are checked. Once the facts of the news article are checked, then the status of the article is saved in the database. The status of the news article related to the fact checked information is saved in the database and whenever any article with same content is uploaded, and then the search is automatically done. The same is followed even news articles including advertisements.
In an additional embodiment of the present invention, the most viewed articles are automatically checked for authenticate by the website in order to curb spreading hoax articles. In addition to this, in the matter of criminal news or high-profile case news is being circulated, the investigative details which are provided by the government which is visible to everyone is searched, and is matched with that data.

In an additional embodiment of the present invention, the news links which are being circulated through the emails which are accounted through the website can also be checked for authenticity as email is the easiest way to spread and share the news. The social media platforms such as Google, Twitter, Facebook etc., are the new and easy news outlets brings the latest developments to people instantaneously around the world. Through these platforms the news links and articles can easily spread.
According to the present invention, the article which is labelled as hoax by the website, cannot be reposted on the same website even after minor modifications as the software application, automatically searches the labelled articles if same user or same material in the article is being reposted.
There are several advantages of the present invention, which includes:
a. The authenticity of the article is checked by the website thoroughly by comparing the keywords with the original source.
b. The users are given the power to flag a hoax article.
c. The users are sent private notification about the authenticity of the article without making it public to the article owner.
d. If the percentage of authenticity is less than the threshold, then the article is deleted permanently/
The present invention can be better understood with the help of examples
Example 1: a news article related to a huge scam which has been exposed is being circulated. The original article by including the true information given by the investigating officials of the government has been altered and false news is being circulated to defame the ones who are accused in the scam. The news article is posed by a user on the website, which is read by millions of users of the website either while accessing the website, or through a news alert or via email link of the article. The website automatically checks the authenticity by searching the source i.e. the original article using keywords and compares the article to the article which is posted on the website. The percentage of originality seen in the article is measured where it is found to be less than the threshold. The website automatically deletes the article and marks it as hoax so that it cannot be posted again, even with minor modifications.
