System And Method For Generating Optimised Shipping Routes For Delivery Of Shipments

Abstract: A method for generating optimized shipping route(s) for the delivery of a set of shipments. The method receives a shipping request comprising a shipping node, a destination node, intermediate node(s), and the set of shipments. The method then identifies at least one of a set of sorted shipments and a set of unsorted shipments, and at least one of resort node(s) and cross dock node(s). The unsorted shipments are allocated to the resort nodes based on a shipment processing constraint, and the sorted shipments are allocated to the cross-dock nodes based on a shipment transport constraint. The method then generates first resort route(s) and first cross dock route(s) based on the allocation of shipments and cost/speed constraints. Further, the optimized shipping route(s) are generated for the delivery of the set of shipments, based on the first resort route(s) and first cross dock route(s). [Figure 2]
