, Description:Field of the invention:
The present invention is related generally to hospitality sector, and more particularly to the system and method for guest recognition in hospitality by using augmented reality technology.
Background of the invention:
In hospitality sector, guest is a person who receives the hospitality of a city, club or like. In other words, guest in hospitality sector is a person who patronize hotel, restaurant for food, lodging or entertainment they provide.
The main goal of every business is to keep customers/clints happy so as in hospitality also, but in hospitality sector it is so important to keep guests engaged in order for the business to grow and prosper. Good service, paying proper attention to customer, may feel them that hotel or restaurant care about developing a long-term relationship which means more than just making a sale.
As every guest is special and needs to be handled with utmost care. But every time it is not possible for hotel staff to provide services in the way guest wants. As it is difficult to remember each and every guest and their needs and preferences.
There are a system having guest recognition related inventions, which are patented, are listed below.
US patent application US6985070B1 by Benjamin James Parker discloses Biometric authentication of hospitality-site customers. A method and system for checking a guest into a hospitality site is provided. A biometric sample is captured from a guest using a biometric-sample-capture device to create a portable biometric profile. The biometric sample is compared to a biometric sample previously stored in a memory location. If the guest is authenticated, he/she is approved for check-in. A user profile can be retrieved that has a set of user preferences. These user preferences can then be used to customize the guests stay at the hospitality site. Many hospitality sites can remotely access the biometric profile to effect authentication.
US patent application US20150348049A1 by Michael Charles Todasco, James Ross Skorupski discloses Systems and methods for hospitality services using beacons. Systems and methods are provided for facilitating hotel services using beacons. Communications between a mobile device of a hotel guest and one or more beacons in or around the hotel may be used to determine the location of the hotel guest. Hotel services may be provided to the hotel guest based on the determined location and/or other information such as user preferences or calendar information. Hotel services may include hotel check-in or checkout, valet, housekeeping, purchasing, discounts, rewards, incentives, amenities adjustments, concierge, bell staff, or other services associated with hotel guests. Providing hotel services to hotel guests using locations determined using beacons may help improve a hotel guest experience by streamlining interactions with hotel staff and amenities and reducing the risk of inconveniences commonly experienced by hotel guests.
Though the prior art patent discloses Biometric authentication of hospitality-site customers and Systems and methods for hospitality services using beacons, they do not give any perfect solution for guest recognition in hospitality sector by using augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality (AR) technology is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment which have capabilities of computer-generated display, text, sound and effects to enhance the user’s real-world experience.
Object of the invention:
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector by using augmented reality technology where user/hotel staff would recognize the register guest and would provide the service as guest require with the help of augmented reality technology.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector where the said user/hotel staff would see whether the guest/customer in hotel is new or loyal customer on augmented reality enabled glass screen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector where the said user/hotel staff would see room preferences of guest/customer on augmented reality enabled glass screen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector where the said user/hotel staff would see food choice of guest/customer on augmented reality enabled glass screen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector where the said user/hotel staff would see reason of staying of customer/guest in hotel on augmented reality enabled glass screen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector where hotel revenue would increase as hotel staff know and provide service as per choice of guest/customer.
Summary of the invention:
The present invention discloses a system and method for guest recognition in hospitality sector by using augmented reality technology. The system for guest recognition in hospitality sector is comprising of;
Any augmented reality enabled glass – used to create augmented view for guest recognition in the hospitality sector;
Application of guest recognition – used for recognition of guest in hotel;

Step 5) After finding record of guest, all information about guest is shown on the screen of glass with the help of augmented reality enabled glass and application
Step 6) Hotel staff can provide services to identified guest as per their need and preferences
As per present invention the main focus of this invention application is to recognition of guest in hospitality sector by using augmented reality technology. At the backend server, an application of guest recognition is installed. When hotel staff meet any guest, an image of guest is taken through augmented reality enabled glass and this image is searched in the database for register of guest. When record is found, system show data related to guest such as whether the guest is new or loyal customer, is guest have any specific room preferences, any special food choice of guest, what is the reason for staying in hotel for business or pleasure on the screen of augmented reality enabled glass. With this information, hotel staff can provide service according to guest’s preferences. For any special guest, hotel staff can pay more attention and value the customer. The present invention implemented as a combination of both hardware and software.
There are some advantages of the present invention such as;
It provides customer-oriented service to the guest by recognizing of guest. Hotel staff can know what is the need and preferences of the guest and which type of services guest expected from hotel.
It improves the customer experience.
Invention application helps to achieve targeted profit as satisfied customer always give good business.
The present system shows the data related to guest such as whether the guest is new or loyal customer, is guest have any specific room preferences, any special food choice of guest, what is the reason for staying in hotel for business or pleasure on the screen of augmented reality enabled glass.
The present invention can be better understood with the help of examples.
Example 1:
One guest K is check in to hotel Y. Now whenever K roam into the hotel and meet any hotel staff, hotel staff who wear augmented reality enabled glass can know information about K. K is going for lunch in restaurant, then hotel staff with previous information of food choice suggest which is the best menu for K and which K should try at least one. This response from hotel, K feels as important guest in hotel which develop loyalty relationship towards Y.
Example 1:
One guest P is check in to hotel C and want one room for lodging. Now hotel staff who wear augmented reality enabled glass check whether P is new customer or old customer. Hotel staff found that P is old customer, and also found that information about K such as K is living in a hotel for business purpose. So, hotel staff assign him a room which has good wireless connectivity and mobile range so P can work smoothly. This response from hotel staff, P feels as important guest in hotel which develop loyalty relationship towards C.
It should be kept in mind that the described embodiment(s) is only presented by way of example and should not be construed as limiting the inventive concept to any particular hardware and software configuration.
The present invention is not limited to components, which is mentioned in the description. Based on the same concept, guest recognition in hospitality sector with augmented reality can be built. Those who are familiar in the art will understand that a number of variations may be made in the disclosed embodiments, all without departing from the scope of the invention, which is defined solely by the appended claims.
