Figure 5 shows an example of a Quick Reference Task List/ Major Task List prepared for
the social event for easy reference of the user.
Figures 6 and 7 show in flow chart form the operations of the social event management
system of the present invention and the social engineering analysis.
Figure 8 explains the basic interaction between the social event management system
(EMS) and the user of the system.
A social event is generated and given a name with small description to make its purpose
clear. Name of an event has a specific format: of my . For
example "Wedding of my Daughter".
The event management system has a database which has some pre-defined (common)
social event names and their details. As soon as user creates a new event, EMS will
start looking for that name in its database and will show the details of that event to the
user for user's initial understanding and estimates. Details of an event can be its normal
execution procedure, gifts, to-do-list and budget estimates etc.
EMS will create a profile (role to be played by user in the event) for the event - profile
is actually a role-play, which can be taken by the user while executing the event. EMS
gives the option of taking the role of an event manager or a customer to the user.
If the user accepts the role of an event manager - user can play that role and can
manage the whole event on his own. EMS will not take decisions in this case and user
can do the budget estimates, analysis, selection, planning and final execution of an
event. This event will be saved with a profile name: as Event Manager.
If the user accepts role of a customer - EMS will act as an event manager and will
manage the whole event starting from gathering requirements, planning, management
to the final execution of any social event with social engineering.
EMS will collect the data like the event list, proceedings, budget estimate, guest list
prepared (in terms of family information chart as shown in Figure 3), planning and other
important details for the previous similar event.
EMS will then arrange a meeting with the user and will discuss all the important points
like purpose of event, guest list, important guests, budget, holidays available, choice of
the family, family members and their relationships.
EMS will discuss the event lists and other details for the event based on its previous
knowledge with the user. User will get an option of modifying the events, function list,
user can increase / decrease the budget, can set a theme for the event and can suggest
the choice for the decoration style and colors.
The suggested and modified set of sub events and other details will be finally discussed
and reviewed by the EMS and the user. EMS will save the updated reviewed event in
the Name format: of my and profile format: as Event Manager.
EMS will now create a To-Do-List (as shown in Figure 4) with the task names, dates of
execution and the responsible person name.
EMS will discuss the list with the user and will modify the list based on certain
parameters like availability of user, budget, finance constraints etc.
EMS will generate a major task list (as shown in Figure 5) for the easy reference of the
user. For each important and major task EMS will give reminders and will send to the
user a message through mobile network. EMS will pick up task as and when they are
supposed to happen and will give reminders before its due time and date so that user
is available.
EMS will suggest the user different options available in the market, will explore different
vendors, caterers and help him to decide the best available option in user's budget.
EMS will display the different themes for the theme party, new trends in market,
decorations, venues and will do the analysis for the best possible option in accordance
with the user's need. User's requirement can be a theme party, or a budget party, etc.
User can define a budget and the decoration style for an event. EMS will do analysis for
selection of different products in the market based on the user's requirement.
EMS will repeat the same for all the tasks according to their schedule and will recheck
and confirm all the bookings and online orders and their delivery status.
After the final execution of the events, EMS will save the event with an event name and
profile format with users feedback, negative and positive points and lessons learnt for
its future management and analysis.
EMS will save the event with an event name and profile so that the same event can be
shared online with other users in the group who would like to execute the same event
in future. Social engineering module (SEM) - shall be able to guide and provide
feedback to EMS for future and similar events. EMS can improve upon the feedback
system from the social engineering module (SEM). The SEM will make the system
intelligent to be used for future events, provide trend setting and trend analysis based
on cumulative data of entire feedback of particular event(s).
SEM shall provide optimal budget analysis depending on similar such events. SEM will
make EMS to allow the user to bargain and suggest a price also. User can finally order
for the products online and do the online bookings also after having a virtual look and
feel.
The basic interaction between the social engineering analysis (SEA), social events
management system (SEM) and the user of the system are given below:
Social engineering analysis can be done by a social engineering analyzer (SEA)
comprising a social engineering module which will work along with social event
management system (EMS) to decide on the important social decisions. SEA is a part of
EMS. EMS interacts with user to take input from user and SEA gives the event "taking
the input from the user" to the EMS.
SEA of the present system will take care of all the social needs of the family, guests,
how to make everybody happy by making something special in social event, which gifts
to be given to whom and how to manage the gathering.
SEA will take input from the user regarding the family members, relationships, their
traits, habits, likes / dislikes. As shown in example below the data is captured in the
tabular form in similar way for all the important information about family. SEA will
characterize the guests into different categories like Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 etc. SEA
will generate a gift list based on different guest and their types. SEA will suggest the
surprise events to be arranged and when to arrange. SEA will work like an eldest
responsible person in the family giving suggestions and advice as and when required on
different occasions like who should host the event, how it should be done, when it
should be done, what should be the important ceremonies to be performed, etc.
The method of social event management includes the need for gathering information
on all requirements, planning and managing the event upto the final execution stage.
The method allows the user to visit the venue of the social event and suggest changes
in the decorations etc. The user can also order for a decoration that he liked more than
others. The user is also allowed to take the role of a social event manager or that of a
customer who would like to arrange the social event. A preview of the whole social
event in the virtual world can be arranged.
