Specification

Claims:1. A method comprising:

displaying a map on at least one computing device for selecting a telecommunication network plan in a preferred geographical location through an application platform configured in a server unit;

performing at least one of: creating the telecommunication network plan; updating the telecommunication network plan; and deleting the telecommunication network plan through the application platform;

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of providing a restricted access with predefined permissions for enabling at least one of admin; network engineer and field engineer to perform at least one of: creating the telecommunication network plan; updating the telecommunication network plan; and deleting the telecommunication network plan.

3. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting send to GIS button on a telecommunication network plan to create the telecommunication network plan on a network engineer account.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of accepting the telecommunication network plan by the network engineer for creating a high level design of the telecommunication network plan.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a create button to create feature pop up for obtaining a high level design.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting submit button from the network engineer account and further displaying the telecommunication network plan in the admin account.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a next status in the admin account for allocating the telecommunication network plan to the network engineer account.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting an accept button in the network engineer account for creating lower level design.

9. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a create button to create feature pop up for obtaining a low level design in the network engineer account.

10. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a submit button in the network engineer account for allocating the obtained low level design of the telecommunication network plan to the admin account.

11. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a next status in the admin account for allocating the telecommunication network plan to a field engineer account.

12. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of selecting a map and selecting a pole option to view the network layer by the network engineer.

13. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of editing network geometry by the network engineer and selecting a submit button for the approval of the telecommunication network plan by the admin account.

14. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of storing the data associated with the telecommunication network plan in a database unit.

15. The method of claim 1 further comprising a step of generating pictorial reports in response to the status of telecommunication network plan.

16. A system comprising:

an application platform configured in a server unit for enabling to at least one of: creating a telecommunication network plan; updating a telecommunication network plan; and deleting a telecommunication network plan, whereby the server unit connected to at least one computing device for accessing the application platform;

at least one geographical information system (GIS) server in communication with the server unit for displaying a map of a geographical location on the at least one computing device for creating a telecommunication network plan; updating a telecommunication network plan; and deleting a telecommunication network plan; and

a database unit connected to the server unit for storing the data associated with the telecommunication network plan.

17. The system of claim 1, wherein the database unit, the at least one computing device and the server unit connected over a network.

18. The system of claim 1, wherein the telecommunication network plan comprises a plurality of network assets tagged with at least one wireless identification tag associated.

19. The system of claim 1, wherein the application platform facilitates in tracking location of the at least one asset. , Description:TECHNICAL FIELD

[001] The present disclosure generally relates to the field of telecommunication network. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to system and method for managing and monitoring end-to-end operations of a telecommunication network.

BACKGROUND

[002] Generally telecommunication network planning is often supported by a framework which models the telecommunication network. The telecommunication network can be created by the service providers with various parameters in consideration. These parameters may include selecting a geographical location, identifying the availability of network nodes and assets, identifying the requirement of additional or non-existent network nodes and assets in the selected geographical location.

[003] The conventionally available tools are limited in terms of their usage and providing the comprehensive and end to end solutions required for the service providers for planning a telecommunication network.

[004] In the light of aforementioned discussion there exists a need for a system and method that would ameliorate or overcome the above mentioned disadvantages.

BRIEF SUMMARY

[005] The following presents a simplified summary of the disclosure in order to provide a basic understanding to the reader. This summary is not an extensive overview of the disclosure and it does not identify key/critical elements of the invention or delineate the scope of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts disclosed herein in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

[006] Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a system and method for managing and monitoring end-to-end operations of a telecommunication network.
[007] Exemplary objective of the present disclosure is to provide technology solution as inventory tool for telecom a service provider which enables to build business process flows, project task allocation, asset geo-location and information capturing system, and further extendible as mobile solution and further generate dashboard view of reports.

[008] According to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure, the method comprises displaying a map on at least one computing device for selecting a telecommunication network plan in a preferred geographical location through an application platform configured in a server unit and performing at least one of: creating the telecommunication network plan; updating the telecommunication network plan; and deleting the telecommunication network plan through the application platform;

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[017] It is to be understood that the present disclosure is not limited in its application to the details of construction and the arrangement of components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The present disclosure is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced or of being carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

[018] The use of “including”, “comprising” or “having” and variations thereof herein is meant to encompass the items listed thereafter and equivalents thereof as well as additional items. The terms “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item. Further, the use of terms “first”, “second”, and “third”, and the like, herein do not denote any order, quantity, or importance, but rather are used to distinguish one element from another.

[019] Referring to FIG. 1 is a block diagram 100 depicting a system for managing and monitoring end to end operations of a telecommunication network, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The system for managing and monitoring end to end operations of a telecommunication network comprises an application platform 102 configured in the server unit 114 may be accessed using the computing devices 104, 105, 106. The system further comprises, a database unit 108, and GIS (geographical information system) servers 110. The computing devices 104, 105, 106 herein after referred as admin device operated using admin account, a network engineer device operated using network engineer account, a field engineer device operated using field engineer account respectively. The admin device 104, a network engineer device 105, a field engineer device 106, the database unit 108, and the GIS (geographical information system) servers 110 are connected over a network 112. The network 112 may include, but not limited to, an Ethernet, a local area network (LAN), or a wide area network (WAN), e.g., the Internet, or a combination of networks. The admin device 104, network engineer device 105 and the field engineer device 106 may be a computer, any handheld device, and the like, without limiting the scope of the present disclosure. The application platform 102 allows the users to create, allocate, track projects and generate reports, without limiting the scope of the present disclosure. The GIS servers 110 may include a small world geospatial server, Google Map Server, Bing Map Server, without limiting the scope of the present disclosure to provide geospatial services to the admin device 104, the network engineer device 105 and the field engineer device 106. The admin device 104, the network engineer device 105 and the field engineer device 106 may be used to create, modify and update a proposed telecommunication network planning in conjunction with the global communication servers 115.

[020] According to a non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the admin device 104, the network engineer device 105 and the field engineer device 106 may access the application platform 102 by creating an account by providing necessary credentials and each account may have restricted access to the application platform 102 for creating, modifying, updating the proposed telecommunication network planning.

[021] The admin device 104, network engineer device105 and the field engineer device 106 may support wired or wireless network to plan the telecommunication network. The wired network may be a fiber to the home network without limiting the scope of the present disclosure. The network engineer device 106 may be allowed performs end to end connectivity of the network 112 on open source maps of the application platform 102 with the help of wired or wireless network support. The network engineer device 105 may perform network feature creation, deletion and modification operations on the open source maps of the application platform 102. The application platform 102 facilitates to add new web map services on the devices.

[022] According to a non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a field engineer device 106 may be a handheld device located at field location. The field engineer device 106 may access the application platform 102 with the field engineer id and password. The field engineer device 106 supports to update the details from any location both online and offline. The field engineer device 106 may perform the operations like field survey, network capture, check feasibility, mark point of interest and check directions, without limiting the scope of the present disclosure.

[023] According to a non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the application platform 102 supports the asset tracking application. The movement of the assets or devices from one location to another is possible with the support of associating a wireless tag to the network asset. The wireless tag may be a RFID, barcode and asset ID without limiting the scope of the present disclosure.

[024] Referring to FIG. 2 is a flow chart 200 depicting a method for implementing a business process management, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The method starts at step 202 by identifying an application platform installed on an admin device, a field engineer device and a network engineer device. The method continues to next step 204 by allowing the admin to access the application platform by creating an account. The method continues to next step 206 by creating a project on a map of the admin device and saving the created project. The method continuous to next step 208 by creating a higher level design of the project by a network engineer. The method continues to next step 210 by creating a high level design survey on a field engineer device. The method continues to next step 212 by creating a low level design of the project by the network engineer device. The method continues to next step 214 by approving project after completing the lower level design by the network engineer device. The method continues to next step 216 by paying construction charges by a field engineer for the approved project. The method continues to next step 218 by transmitting updates to the field engineer device for the approved project. The method continues to next step 220 by restoring faults of the project by the application platform. The method continues to next step 222 for saving the project after faults are restored.

[025] Referring to FIG. 3 is a flow chart 300 depicting a method for managing and monitoring end to end operations of the telecommunication network, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The method starts at step by 302 enabling admin to login to admin account with user id and password. The method continues to next step 304 by creating a project on a preferred geographical location by selecting map and saving the created project. The method continues to next step 306 by selecting submit button on the saved project to create same project on a network engineer account. The method continues to next step 308 by accepting the project by the network engineer for creating a higher level design of the project. The method continues to next step 310 by selecting a create button on the screen to create feature pop up for obtaining a high level design. The method continues to next step 312 by receiving an alert message by the network engineer account for the feature creation. The method continues to next step 314 by selecting submit button from the network engineer device. The method continues to next step 316 by displaying the project in the admin account. The method continues to next step 318 by selecting a next status on the admin account for allocating to the network engineer account. The method continues to next step 320 by selecting a accept button on the network engineer account for creating lower level design project. The method continues to next step 322 by selecting a create button to create feature pop up for obtaining a low level design. The method continues to next step 324 by receiving an alert message by the network engineer account for the feature creation. The method continues to next step 326 by selecting the submit button from the network engineer account. The method continues to next step 328 by selecting a next status in the admin account for allocating to a field engineer device. The method continues to next step 330 by selecting a map and selecting a network element option to view the network layer by the network engineer. The method continues to next step 332 for editing network geometry by the network engineer and selecting a submit button for the project approval.

[026] Referring to FIG. 4A-4B are diagrams 400a,400b depicting an admin device screens for managing and monitoring end to end operations of a telecommunication network, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The admin may start the process by logging into the application platform 102 by providing necessary credentials. After logging into the application platform the admin can view a menu list. The menu list may include but not limited to mybasket 402, map 404, all projects list 406, workflow management 408, dashboard 410, user management 412 and a report 414 on the screen. The admin may select the map to fix the project location. By selecting the map admin can view the project location and create project features. The project features may include inputting a project ID, project name, and the like, without limiting the scope of the disclosure. On completing the project feature creation, the admin may get project success message on the screen. By selecting on the all project list 408 the admin can view the created project list. The admin can view a Send To GIS button 416 on the created project. After clicking on the send to GIS button 316 the created project may be sent to the network engineer device 105.

[027] Referring to FIG. 5A-5G are diagrams 500a-500g depicting a network engineer device screens for managing and monitoring end to end operations of a telecommunication network, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The network engineer may create a high level design for the created project from the admin device 104. The network engineer can initiate the process by logging into the application platform 102 with user id and password. After logging into the application platform 102 the network engineer can view a menu list. The menu list may include but not limited to, my basket 402, a map 404, a workflow management 406, an all project list 408 and a dashboard 410. By selecting my basket 402 on the screen network engineer can view the requested projects. The network engineer may accepts the project received from the admin device 104 by selecting the accept button 502. The network engineer may select the map button to fix the project location. The network engineer may further select pole option to create a layer. Modify, delete, and create options appear on the screen in response to select the pole. In response to selecting the create button on the screen a create feature pop up appears on the screen to retrieve a high level design. The network engineer may enter the project details then selects save button 504. The network engineer may receive an alert for feature creation. The network engineer can view the created layer on the screen by selecting the map. The network engineer may also view a completed high level design on the screen.

[028] According to non limiting exemplary embodimennt of the present disclosure, the network engineer receives a success message after selecting on submit button 506 on the screen and the project is submited to the admin. The project may appear on the admin my basket 402. Admin can view the network layer by selecting the map on the screen. By selecting the next status on the screen automatically push button may be enabled to export data into the network engineer device 105.

[029] According to non limiting exemplary embodimennt of the present disclosure, the network engineer performs the low level design for the project by selecting the accept button 508 on my basket 402. The network engineer selects the map on the screen and selects a pole option to create layer. Modify, delete, create buttons may appear on the screen in response to selecting the pole. On selecting the create button on the screen, a create feature pop up appears on the screen to get a low level design. Initially the network engineer enters the project details and then selects to save 510. The network engineer may receive an alert message for feature creation. The network engineer can view the created layers on the screen by selecting the map. Further, the network engineer selects my basket 402 and selects the submit button 512 for approving the project.

[030] According to non limiting exemplary embodimennt of the present disclosure, the network engineer may receive success message in response to selecting the submit button 512. The project may be removed from the network engineer account. The project may appear on the admin’s my basket 402. Admin can view the network layer by selecting the map on the screen. The admin can check the network layer and assign project to the field engineer device 105.

[031] Referring to FIG. 6A-6B are diagrams 600a and 600b depicting field engineer device screens for managing and monitoring end to end operations of a telecommunication network, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The field engineer starts the process by logging into the application platform with user id and password. After logging into the application platform the field engineer can view a menu list. The menu list may include but not limited to, network layer 602, a base map 404, a book mark 604, an info 606, an extent 608, apps 610 and a wms 612.The field engineer may select the map 604 to initially view the project location. The field engineer may select the map and may proceed to selects a pole option to view the created layer. In response to selecting the pole the field engineer may view cancel, save, edit, delete, close buttons on the screen. The field engineer can edit the network feature 616 and network geometry 614 on the device and the field engineer may select submit button for the project approval.

[032] According to non limiting exemplary embodimennt of the present disclosure, the project may approved by the admin by selecting my basket 402 on the device and by selectinng the submit button. The project may appear in the all project list 406.

[033] Referring to FIG. 7 is a dashboard 700 view for various team projects, according to exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The application platform 102 generates reports with the charts to show pictorial representation of the analysis. The application platform 102 supports dashboard view to the admin for managing projects status and the team’s progress. The application may generates dashboards for example network health , network growth and utilization, market analysis, customer coverage analysis and trend analysis of the faults without limiting the scope of the present disclosure.

[034] Although the present disclosure has been described in terms of certain preferred embodiments and illustrations thereof, other embodiments and modifications to preferred embodiments may be possible that are within the principles and spirit of the invention. The above descriptions and figures are therefore to be regarded as illustrative and not restrictive.

[035] Thus the scope of the present disclosure is defined by the appended claims and includes both combinations and sub combinations of the various features described herein above as well as variations and modifications thereof, which would occur to persons skilled in the art upon reading the foregoing description.
