System And Method For Parsing A Postal Address

Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PARSING A POSTAL ADDRESS Approaches for parsing an unprocessed input address are described. Once obtained, the input address is subsequently processed to ascertain presence of different components, i.e., lower components and higher components, in the input address. On determining presence of any of the lower components, the corresponding lower component is removed from the input address. Once the processing of the input address to ascertain presence of all the lower components is complete, the input address is subsequently processed to ascertain presence of variety of higher components. On determining presence of any of the higher components, the corresponding component is removed from the input address. Thereafter, all the output components which have been identified in the input address are arranged in a predefined order to obtain an ordered input address. The ordered input address then may be provided to a geo-coder to determine geo-location coordinates corresponding to the input address. <>
