System And Method For Providing Healthcare Related Reminders

Abstract: Present disclosure provides for a system and a method for acquiring, storing, processing and monitoring vaccine and vaccination dates. The method ameliorates the need for alert messages and reminders to direct end users to administer the vaccine in the stipulated time. The alert signal can be a sound, a visual or a vibration signal and the reminders can be in the form of SMS or emails. The invention further `employs a method to send repetitive reminders for a certain period so that there is an extremely low probability that the vaccination will be missed on the scheduled date.

[0001] The present disclosure relates to health care and medical systems, and more particularly, to systems and methods for acquiring, storing, processing and providing vaccination related information. BACKGROUND [0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art. [0003] Since several decades reminder systems have been quite in use. Reminder systems can be of various mechanisms that is aimed at prompting users through phone calls, letters, postcards, and e-mail. Short message service (SMS) is an important and useful service included in all mobile phones that lets users to communicate non-verbally. In context of are minder system, it could be beneficial toput in use this service for reminding people of various events. In the field of vaccination too, a reminder system is of utmost importance. [0004] Child immunization is very important for a child’s health. Approximately 70%-80% of the population in India is illiterate and does not follow the vaccination card prescribed by health officials. It is also not possible for government workers to provide for a door to door child immunization. Paper immunization card used to inform about vaccination details also is not feasible as they can be easily lost. Although there are numerous apps for tracking vaccination details and working as a reminder system, these apps function only via advanced smart phones that a huge section of the population do not possess. There are also smart healthcare card readers, but these are quite complex and would not be highly useful to a huge section of the population. [0005] Hence, there is a requirement in the art to develop and design a smart electronic system that would initiate reminders for acquiring, storing, processing and providing vaccination related information. OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE [0006] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which are aimed to enhance one or more problems of the prior art or at least provide an effective alternative system method are listed herein below. The one or more processor(s) 202 can be implemented as one or more microprocessors, microcomputers, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, central processing units, logic circuitries, and/or any devices that manipulate data based on operational instructions. Among other capabilities, the one or more processor(s) 202 are configured to fetch and execute computer-readable instructions stored in a memory 204 of the control unit102. The memory 204 can store one or more computer-readable instructions or routines, which may be fetched and executed to create or share the data units over a network service. The memory 204 can include any non-transitory storage device including, for example, volatile memory such as RAM, or non-volatile memory such as EPROM, flash memory, and the like. [00055] The control unit 102 can also include an interface(s) 206. The interface(s) 206 may include a variety of interfaces, for example, interfaces for data input and output devices, referred to as I/O devices, storage devices, and the like. The interface(s) 206 may facilitate communication of the control unit 102 with various devices coupled to the control unit 102. The interface(s) 206 may also provide a communication pathway for one or more components of the control unit 102. Examples of such components include, but are not limited to, processing engine(s) 208 and database 210. [00056] The processing engine(s) 208 can be implemented as a combination of hardware and programming (for example, programmable instructions) to implement one or more functionalities of the processing engine(s) 208. In examples described herein, such combinations of hardware and programming may be implemented in several different ways. For example, the programming for the processing engine(s) 208 may be processor executable instructions stored on a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium and the hardware for the processing engine(s) 208 may include a processing resource (for example, one or more processors), to execute such instructions. In the present examples, the machine-readable storage medium may store instructions that, when executed by the processing resource, implement the processing engine(s) 208. In such examples, the control unit 102 can include the machine-readable storage medium storing the instructions and the processing resource to execute the instructions, or the machine-readable storage medium may be separate but accessible to te control unit 102 and the processing resource. In other examples, the processing engine(s) 208 may be implemented by electronic circuitry. The database 210 can include data that is either stored or generated as a result of functionalities implemented by any of the components of the processing engine(s) 208. [00057] In an example, the processing engine(s) 208 can include an information extraction unit 212, parameter comparison unit 214, alert generation unit 216reminder generation unit 218, timer generation unit based on real time clock 220 and unit(s) 222. The other unit(s) 220 can implement functionalities that supplement applications or functions performed by the control unit 102 or the processing engine(s) 208. [00058] In embodiment, the information extraction unit 212 of the proposed control unit 102 can acquire attributes or parameters of the end entity or user from various smart devices or directly from an input unit on the system itself such as the keypad 108 and then provide said information to the control unit 102. Examples of entity or user attributes can be age, gender, date of birth, first set of vaccination details (that may include date and name of the vaccine administered) In an embodiment, there can be a user who can coordinate in providing the information to the control unit 102 by the computing device. In another embodiment, the computing device can automatically provide information to the control unit 102. For example, the computing device can provide information in real time to the control unit 102 or at the birth of a new-born itself, such that automatic analysis of the feed can be performed. [00059] In an embodiment, the parameter comparison unit 214 of the proposed control unit102 performs comparison of all attributes received from the information extraction unit 202. In an embodiment, plurality of reference parameters related to age and vaccines can be stored in a database configured with a server such that the stored information can be used for analysis. Thus, when a user enters the information, the parameter comparison unit 214 can determine if and when the first set of vaccinations were administered. For example, if the entity or user is older than a prescribed age, the parameter comparison unit can ignore the information provided. [00060] In an embodiment, alert generation unit 216 of the control unit 102can generate alert signals based on the user information received. In an exemplary embodiment, alert signals can be in form of a visual signal, a sound signal, or a vibration signal using signal processing algorithms. [00061] In an embodiment, the reminder generation module 218upon receiving information from parameter comparison unit 214, various AI techniques such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), algorithms related to signal processing, and can use various other AI techniques such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), algorithms to provide text based messages as reminders. It would be appreciated by the one skilled in the art that the control unit 102 can perform machine learning using said various AI techniques such that after performing said learning, the control unit 102 can be enabled to generate reminders and alerts and notify to the entity or user. [00062] In an embodiment, the timer generation based on real time clock unit 220 can calculate the instance of time the entity or user received he first set of vaccination and also determine the next instance of time the next set of vaccines needs to be administered. A program delay counter keeps a track of these time instants and generates a buffer time period wherein reminders can be sent to the entity or user for that time period. For example, after giving first vaccination at birth of a newborn, the next vaccination to be given is determined by the timer generation unit based on real time clock 220 that may calculate 10 days as the buffer time period. So, 20 days hence, the system 102 stars sending alert signals and email and SMS as reminders to the guardian cell phones. [00063] Thus, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a complete solution for sending alerts and reminders to the end users. [00064] FIG. 3 illustrates an exemplary representation of a set of instructions for generating reminders and alerts in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. [00065] In an embodiment, with respect to Fig. 3 at block 302, acquiring entity attributes/parameters and vaccination set details, at block 304, communication module on or at block 306 communication module off, at block 308, the attribute, age
