, Description:Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to online marketplaces for providing supplier information. The present invention more particularly relates to a system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information.
Background of the invention:
There are many types of manufacturing database management and inventory control systems present. These systems view the process from the narrow viewpoint of goals of such a system. The inventory control process does not generally take into account the problems associated with availability of materials and machines to satisfy the inventory demand. On the other hand, the manufacturing control process considers the availability problem but does not take into account the effect of a sales promotion that will deplete an inventory faster than projected. A marketing department in preparing a sales promotion will often not consider the effect that promotion will have on availability, inventory and profit margin but tends to focus on sales goals. So there is a need of a system that will support managers with each of these viewpoints in understanding the effect of the various decisions that can be made on the supply chain as a whole both currently and into the near future.
Supply chain information is limited and does not exist in some cases. So there is lack of timely communication between the different participants in the supply chain results in higher costs for the system. In addition, the system continues to suffer from excess inventories and waste, unnecessary stock outs and rationing of products. A company cannot effectively react to these issues because the information that is needed to make sound management decisions is not available when it is needed. It affects a company's ability to evaluate marketing tactics, post-program. Such companies also do not possess historical data that can assist it in developing marketing strategy and related plans, and understanding the essence of a brand.
Today, there is limited access to, and limited participation in, supply chain information systems by restaurants, franchisees, distributors, suppliers, etc. The infrastructure for supply chain information systems is inadequate. So it is not known how much product is selling, when it is selling or where it is selling. These activities throughout the supply chain will continue to be error-prone, time-consuming and costly.
So there is a need of a system that will support managers with each of these viewpoints in understanding the effect of the various decisions that can be made on the supply chain as a whole both currently and into the near future. The present invention is a system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information.
Objects of the invention:
An object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an error free, time-saving and cost effective system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method which provides information about selling quantity of the product in timely manner and place for selling.
Other objects and benefits of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to bind the scope of the present invention.
Summary of the invention:
Accordingly, a system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information is disclosed. The present invention provides a system and method which is error free, time-saving and cost effective and which provides information about selling quantity of the product in timely manner and place for selling. A system for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information comprising of; A online database; An online sales channel (interface) for buyers wherein the online database is for providing supplier information of preferred products by users and online sales channel (interface) is for receiving information about items for sale from each of seller and presenting it to potential buyers for selling through the interface consistently. The interface is for presenting the items for sale to potential buyers and receives an order from buyer to purchase an item. The interface received the information on the online sales channel.

Detailed Description of the invention:
The present invention is a system and method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information. The present invention provides a system and method which is error free, time-saving and cost effective and which provides information about selling quantity of the product in timely manner and place for selling.
In one embodiment, a system for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information comprising of;
An online database;
An online sales channel (interface) for buyers;
Where the said online database is for providing supplier information of preferred products by users and online sales channel (interface) is for receiving information about items for sale from each of seller and presenting it to potential buyers for selling through the interface consistently. The interface is for presenting the items for sale to potential buyers and receives an order from buyer to purchase an item. The interface received the information on the online sales channel.
In another embodiment, a method for providing online marketplaces for providing supplier information comprising the steps of;
Providing supplier information of preferred products by users;
Receiving information about items for sale from seller through online sales channel (interface);
Presenting the information to potential buyers for selling through the interface;
Receiving an order from buyer to purchase an item.
In another embodiment, the Interface facilitates the development of electronic commerce between system suppliers and distributors including electronic ordering and confirmations, electronic invoicing and payments and electronic supplier performance measuring and reporting.
The seller can supply information about the items being sold to the interface; for example, in the form of an electronic document such as a product data file—and the interface can use this information to arrange for the items to be sold on an online marketplace. The interface can supply different levels of service to the seller.
Alternatively, a third party service provider (either related to interface or not, depending on implementation) may provide the product information. For example, if a merchant desires to use an interface to sell used laptops, the interface may specify that the merchant's used laptop inventory be sent to a refurbished that will then process the inventory by cleaning, auditing and wiping the laptops' hard drives. The audit process generates a report detailing the machine specs and its condition. This report is then provided to the interface and used to list the inventory for sale on an online marketplace. In such an implementation, the merchant does not have to provide any product information upfront, whether in the form of a PDF or otherwise.
In another embodiment, at a basic level, the interface offers connection services between one or more merchants and one or more online marketplaces. The interface may have a computer system that includes objects, documents and information residing on one or more repositories or databases. The information may be networked among multiple computers. The interface may or may not share hardware resources with the online market places. The interface may also receive information from multiple sellers (not shown) regarding the items they are selling. The interface can facilitate a sale of the items through one or more online sales channels. The items may sell at different times and in different quantities and may sell to different customers on several online sales channels. The interface can then facilitate the fulfillment of sold items.
