DESC:PRIORITY CLAIM
[0001] This application claims priority from the provisional application numbered 201841007269 filed with Indian Patent Office, Chennai on 27th February 2018 entitled “System and method for providing unified interface platform for controlling multiple devices”, the entirety of which is expressly incorporated herein by reference
PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION:
[0002] The following specification describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
Technical field of the invention
[0003] The present invention relates to a system and method for providing unified interface platform for controlling multiple devices. With the technology revolution, number of devices for a home is increasing and this invention particularly enhances the user experience by providing one device for all such needs and more.
Background of the invention
[0004] With increasing new technological devices people own multiple devices at home; causing inconvenience to the users as it is difficult to switch from device to device for a remote location or automatically. Most of the time devices need to be shared between users (TV/STB). Different devices have dependency on different platforms, which ultimately restrict the possible development opportunities for unified control.
[0005] Various types of systems are available to control and automate devices without really physically controlling them. The United States Patent document US 7707614B2 describes personal media broadcasting system which enables video distribution over a computer network. It allows a user to view and control media sources over a computer network from a remote location. A personal broadcaster receives an input from one or more types of media sources, digitizes and compresses the content, and streams the compressed content over a computer network to a media player running on any of a wide range of client devices for viewing the media. However, the present invention offers behavioral recommendation for better lifestyle and user’s comfort. It involves controlling many devices including security devices also.
[0006] The United States Patent document US 7725912B2 describes an apparatus and method for effectively implementing a wireless television system which may include a communications processor and a transmitter device that combine at least one of a local-area network interface, a wide-area network interface, and one or more television data interfaces for effectively performing a wireless network transmission process. A transmitted stream from the wireless television system may be received via wireless network processing for viewing local-area network data. However, this system only focuses on the media transmission and linkage, other electronic devices like lighting devices, fans, ACs, Kitchen appliances, health monitoring devices are not linked.
[0007] Current available systems are usually limited in their ability to incorporate many devices together as there is no one specific platform. Conventional systems are also incapable of providing privacy along with other privileges to the user. Current systems do not provide ease of integration. Switching from device to device is also a major problem in the current systems.
[0008] Hence, there is a need for a system and method for providing unified interface platform for controlling multiple devices.
Summary of the invention:
[0009] The present invention overcomes the drawbacks in the prior art and provides system and method for providing unified interface platform for controlling multiple devices. The system comprising a controller unit configured to receive usage data from a plurality of user devices connected to the system. An artificial intelligence (AI) unit is connected to the device controller unit to receive the home appliance usage data related to the user device and to learn user behavior from the received usage data and provides recommendations to ease and automate user's task. The user devices is atleast one of a television, a mobile phone, and a home appliance associated with the user. The home appliance further comprises one or more security devices, closed-circuit television lighting devices, temperature control device, smoke detectors, gas detectors, lightning, kitchen jars, electric fans, air conditioners, kitchen appliances, and other health monitoring devices.
[0010] The AI unit further comprises a monitoring unit to monitor user usage pertaining to the user devices based on the received usage data. The AI unit also comprises an analysing unit to analyse the monitored usage data based on the received usage data pertaining to the user devices and generates meaningful user usage data set, a result generator is configured to generate outscome based on analysis performed on generated meaningful user usage data. The automation unit is configured to provide recomendations to the user device associated with the user, based on the outcome of the result generator.
[0011] Hence, there is a need for a system and method for providing unified interface platform for controlling multiple devices
