Abstract: Accordingly, a system and method for ranking and arrangement of videos is disclosed. Videos are ranked based on various factors like time length of a video, trend of user’s action relating to the video, the closed caption (CC) feature in uploaded video on youtube, by putting tags based on queries used by user to find the video , by writing description and title of video content, optimizing video title, description. Thus better ranking in youtube search is obtained. The videos are arranged within the user interface from left to right in order of decreasing rank of the respective video streams. The display content is arranged in such a way that the highest ranking video gets enlarged in user interface.
Claims:We Claim:
1. A system for ranking and arrangement of videos comprising of:
a. a broadband cable network or satellite broadcast network;
b. communication network such as telephone network or internet, an extranet, a virtual private network, a local area network, a wide area network; and
c. a display screen such as television or computer;
wherein the display screen is for displaying of the ranked videos to user; communication network is for effective communication in between user and networking system; and broadband cable network is for transmitting and displaying of videos.
2. A method for ranking and arrangement of videos comprising the steps of;
a. Receiving videos through communication network to user;
b. Displaying videos within user interface (display screen) of user;
c. Ranking the videos on the basis of ranking criteria;
d. Arranging the videos in order of ranking of videos; and
e. Transmitting and displaying of videos.
3. The system as claimed in claim1, wherein the said videos are arranged from top to bottom in order of decreasing rank of video content.
4. The system as claimed in claim1, wherein the user receives encoded video streams and other information through network and decodes the same for display on television or computer.
5. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said videos are arranged within the user interface from left to right in order of decreasing rank of the respective video streams.
6. The system as claimed in claim1, wherein the said display content of the video is arranged in such a way that the highest ranking video gets enlarged in user interface.
7. The system as claimed in claim1, wherein rank change with a first video stream is reflected easily by displaying it on user’s display screen.

The method as claimed in claim2, wherein the ranking criteria is selected from time length of a video, trend of user’s action relating to the video, the closed caption (CC) feature in uploaded video on youtube, by putting tag based on queries used by user to find the video, by writing description and title of video content, optimizing video title, description and tags

The present invention relates to ranking of the videos .The present invention more particularly relates to a system and method for ranking and arrangement of the videos on internet based on user-specified criteria.
Background of the invention:
Youtube is a powerful marketing platform that business needs to utilize. Youtube is a platform where 400 hours of video is uploaded every minute. YouTube also offers you ways to monetize the content of your videos. Generally businessman has account on youtube and they market the business with some videos. Youtube marketing is done by getting videos ranked in google and youtube searches. So people can find easily find your videos with the help of relevant keywords related to your business. Video is the key element of many businesses that will build a sound brand identity. If that personality is unique, brand will be recognized for your prospective client.
Videos define your target audience. In order to develop a successful creative strategy, gender, age and location are the basic demographics needed to be narrowed down in order to develop a successful creative strategy. An easy way to address audience needs is to create a story in which somebody has an issue and brand will help to sort it out. Every businessman describes product features in order to make the video more attractive and kind of emotions it triggers is also very important. Videos should be more sharable which ultimately affects rankings.
If people watch the whole video, it provides useful information and quality entertainment to users. Subscribers and likes obtained to youtube videos are the important parameters for analyzing the importance of youtube videos. Comments also play an important role in making good ranking of youtube videos. Based on usefulness of videos, the viewers are encouraged to subscribe and watch the content of the video along with comments.
Ranking of videos based on search results obtained from text based queries. Retrieving of video content presents new and different challenges for search engines. Using particular text queries, users search for video using text searches. It is really difficult to find video content using text. The content sought is of different type than the metadata searched for. Videos displayed on youtube are without quality control of textual metadata.
A new category called as video aggregators or video search engines are for indexing videos across video content hosts and sites that embed links to the videos. MeFeedia, Blinkx, VideoSurf, Pixsy, Yidio, CastTV and Veveo are video aggregators.
So there is a need for providing improved system and method for indexing of videos/audio content hosted on sites such as youtube and gets distributed through these sites.
Objects of the invention:
Main object of the present invention is to provide a ranking tool adapted specifically to video and/or audio content hosted on sites such as YouTube and NBC.
Other objects and benefits of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to bind the scope of the present invention.

Detailed Description of the invention:
The invention will now be described in detail in connection with certain preferred and optional embodiments, so that various aspects thereof may be more fully understood and appreciated.
The present invention is a system and method for ranking and arrangement of videos.
The video which is viewed by many persons is ranked highest .Aggregate views are counted in order to decide ranking of videos.
The present invention helps to optimize youtube videos higher in rank on youtube search. Videos are ranked based on various factors like time length of a video, trend of user’s action relating to the video, the closed caption (CC) feature in uploaded video on youtube, by putting tag based on queries used by user to find the video, by writing description and title of video content, optimizing video title, description and tags. Thus better ranking in youtube search is obtained. Video streams are displayed in order of rank as highly ranked video is shown in the upper left hand corner of the display screen. Only the videos having at least a particular rank is shown on the display screen. When there are too many video streams display feasibly at the same time on screen, the user’s attention is drawn to the videos having particular ranking or highlighted or enlarged. The videos are arranged from top to bottom in order of decreasing rank of video content. A user's attention is quickly drawn to potentially significant video streams without needing to focus every video stream being displayed.
The user receives encoded video streams and other information through network and decodes the same for display on television or computer. The videos are arranged within the user interface from left to right in order of decreasing rank of the respective video streams. The display content is arranged in such a way that the highest ranking video gets enlarged in user interface. A change in rank associated with a first video stream is reflected easily by displaying it on user’s display screen.
In one embodiment, a system for ranking and arrangement of videos comprising of;
a broadband cable network or satellite broadcast network; communication network such as telephone network or internet, an extranet, a virtual private network, a local area network, a wide area network, a display screen such as television or computer;
wherein the display screen is for displaying of the ranked videos to user; communication network is for effective communication in between user and networking system; and broadband cable network is for transmitting and displaying of videos.
In another embodiment, a method for ranking and arrangement of videos comprising the steps of;
receiving videos through communication network to user;
displaying videos within user interface (display screen) of user;
ranking the videos on the basis of ranking criteria;
arranging the videos in order of ranking of videos; and
transmitting and displaying of videos.
Video ranking factors:
1) Time length of a video
The time length of a video should be atleast 60 seconds in order to get the content viewed by users.
2) Channel keywords
Keywords can help in ranking of the video in upper position if used effectively. They’re essentially one or two word descriptions of the video that gives users an idea of what the video content is about. Good quality content videos can be shared and promoted in order to get more views.
3) Video title and video description:
Keywords should be placed at the start of title and should be relevant to the video. A short video description should be added in order to get highlighted and viewed by users.
4) Trend of user’s action relating to video:
The trend of user’s action relating to video is also important for ranking of videos. The trend of user’s action such as most viewed videos is ranked higher. The most seen and viewed, liked videos are in upper list of the ranking.
5) The closed caption feature in uploaded video:
The text over the video helps viewers understand video narration better. It can also be translated into different languages thereby reaching out to more people. Uploading the transcript also helps which contain the text of the description in the video. YouTube’s new algorithm automatically converts voice of user into a transcript which makes it easier to activate it. A closed caption can be written if video doesn’t contain voice.
Using closed captions gives the video a new way to get the index into the search engine since it has keyword written there. Transcript can be written into video description which makes your video keyword rich and very friendly to the search engines.
6) Tags in uploaded video:
Tags are important way to get a better ranking in YouTube search. By writing main keywords and by writing general and matching keywords will help to set tags.
7) Optimizing existing videos using search data:
This brings all the queries used by user to find the video. There is a need to optimize video title, description and tags based on these queries. These queries can be treated as a keyword. If a query is seen and the video is not explaining that part then there is idea for next youtube video.
