Abstract: System and method for repairing an airplane by using augmented reality technology is disclosed, comprising of an airplane repairing application; augmented reality enabled electronic device; wireless communication module, drawing of airplane which has to be repaired and backend server. The invention application used for repairing an airplane with the help of augmented reality technology which creates augmented view of an airplane which shown all small parts of machine and give probable solution of problem.

Claims:We claim:
1) The system for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology is comprising of:
a. Any augmented reality enabled electronic device – used to help repairing team to find out actual problem in an airplane;
b. Application of an airplane repairing – used for repairing an airplane;
c. The drawing of an airplane which has to be repaired;
d. Backend server – Application and data is stored; and
e. Wireless communication module – used for connectivity between augmented reality enabled device and backend server.
wherein, through augmented reality enabled device the said application can be accessed through which the said user repairs an airplane.
2) Method for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology is comprising the steps of:
a) Installing repairing of an airplane application at backend server;
b) Connecting Any augmented reality enabled electronic device to backend server through wireless communication module;
c) Moving team member in front of problematic airplane part;
d) Displaying the small parts of airplane machines in Augmented reality enabled device;
e) Detecting problematic part of airplane machines; and
f) Suggesting the probable solution to the problem
3) The system claimed in claim 1, wherein the real time repairing airplane is to be done within a short time.
4) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein it shows the problematic part of airplane on the augmented reality enabled device screen.
5) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein it picks right problematic part of airplane.
6) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein it suggests probable solution to the problem.
7) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein it shows probable solutions on the screen of augmented reality enabled device.
8) The system claimed in claim 1, wherein it reduces down time of airplane.
9) The system claimed in claim 1, wherein it increases airplane productivity as downtime of airplane is reduced.
, Description:Field of the invention:
The present invention is related generally to aviation sector, and more particularly to the system and method for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology.
Background of the invention:
An aircraft is type of vehicle which is able to fly with gaining support from the air. Examples of aircraft is airplanes, paramotors, helicopters, airships, gliders and hot air balloons. The human activity which surrounds aircraft is called as aviation.
Repairing of any type of aircraft need an adherence to standards and procedures. For these regulations require which results into an aircraft must be in an airworthy condition. So, whenever an aircraft is repaired, the main aim is to bring it back to safe airworthy condition.
There are a system having airplane repairing related inventions, which are patented, are listed below.
US patent application US20120304433A1 by Jacques Roux, Gilles Tardu discloses Method for repairing an aircraft fuselage. The invention relates to a method for repairing aircraft primary structures. More specifically, the invention relates to a method for repairing damage to the coating of an aircraft fuselage, which coating is made of fiber-reinforced composite material. This method comprises a step consisting of making a cut-out in the fuselage with a substantially parallelepipedal outline around the damages and of drilling a circular hole substantially centered on the intersection of the sides of the outline of the parallelepiped of the cut-out at each of the corners of said outline before the cutting out operation.
US patent application US6671593B2 by Barry Sinex discloses Dynamic aircraft maintenance production system. A dynamic aircraft maintenance production system for planning a maintenance check of an aircraft includes means for obtaining any routine tasks that may exist and which are required to be performed on the aircraft, means for obtaining any non-routine tasks that may exist and which are required to be performed on the aircraft, means for generating a maintenance flow chart detailing scheduling data for each of the routine and non-routine tasks, means for assigning a user-determined number of the routine and non-routine tasks to personnel for completion, means for maintenance activity data on each assigned routine task and non-routine task, means for available resource data, and means for updating the maintenance flow chart to reflect newly-obtained maintenance activity data and available resource data.
European patent application EP1945510B1 by Todd W. Gould, Garry G. Herzberg, Travis S. Reid, George F. Wilber, Keith D. Conzachi, James T. Farricker discloses Remote aircraft maintenance in a networked environment. This invention relates to systems and methods for networking assets within an aircraft, and more specifically, to network-based systems and methods that may be used, for example, in manufacturing, operational and maintenance environments.
Though the prior art patent discloses Method for repairing an aircraft fuselage, Dynamic aircraft maintenance production system and Remote aircraft maintenance in a networked environment, they do not give any perfect solution for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality (AR) technology is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment which have capabilities of computer-generated display, text, sound and effects to enhance the user’s real-world experience.
Object of the invention:
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology where user/team member would repair the airplane with the help of augmented reality technology.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where the real time repairing airplane would be done within a short time.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would show the problematic part of airplane on the augmented reality enabled device screen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would pick right problematic part of airplane.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would suggest probable solution to the problem.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would show probable solutions on the screen of augmented reality enabled device.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would reduce down time of airplane.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for repairing of an airplane where it would increase airplane productivity as downtime of airplane is reduced.
Summary of the invention:
The present invention discloses a system and method for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology. The system for repairing of an airplane is comprising of;
Any augmented reality enabled electronic device – used to help repairing team to find out actual problem in airplane;
Application of airplane repairing – used for repairing the airplane;
The drawing of airplane which has to be repaired;
Backend server – Application and data is stored; and
Wireless communication module – used for connectivity between augmented reality enabled device and backend server.
According to the present invention, repairing of an airplane application would be installed at backend server. Any augmented reality enabled electronic device would be connected to the backend server through the wireless communication module. Repairing team member would move in front of problematic part of airplane. Repairing team member would see the small parts of airplane machines in augmented realty enabled device. Repairing team member would detect problematic machines parts of airplane. The present application would suggest the probable solution the problem.

Detailed description of the invention:
The present invention discloses a system and method for repairing of the airplane by using augmented reality technology.
Augmented reality is used to explore an enhanced view of real life by overlaying computer-generated content. This content includes video, 3D models, dynamic web content. This can be triggered by an image, a location or combination of both.
The main aim of augmented reality technology is to create a system in such way that the user cannot differentiate the real world and the virtual augmentation of it. Augmented reality is now trend in various industries such as military training, entertainment, engineering design, robotics, manufacturing and now in aviation also.
Fig.1 illustrates the system for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology is comprising of contents;
Any augmented reality enabled electronic device – used to help repairing team to find out actual problem in airplane;
Application of airplane repairing – used for repairing the airplane;
The drawing of airplane which has to be repaired;
Backend server – Application and data is stored; and
Wireless communication module – used for connectivity between augmented reality enabled device and backend server.
Fig. 1 illustrates the system of repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology is used for repairing of an airplane with the help of augmented reality technology. According to the present invention, repairing of an airplane application is installed at backend server. Any augmented reality enabled electronic device is connected to the backend server through the wireless communication module. Repairing team member moves in front of problematic part of airplane. Repairing team member is able to see the small parts of airplane machines in augmented realty enabled device. Repairing team member is able to detects problematic machines parts of airplane. The present application suggests the probable solution the problem.
Fig. 2 illustrates the method for repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology is comprising of the steps are as;
Step 1) Repairing of an airplane application is installed at backend server
Step 2) Any augmented reality enabled electronic device is connected to backend server through wireless communication module
Step 3) Repairing team member move in front of problematic part of airplane
Step 4) Repairing team member can see the small parts of airplane machines in Augmented reality enabled device
Step 5) Repairing team member can detect problematic part of part of airplane machines
Step 6) Application suggests the probable solution to the problem
As per present invention the main focus of this invention application is repairing of an airplane by using augmented reality technology. An airplane is the combination of two or more simple machine which work combinedly to make an airplane run smoothly. To run an airplane smoothly all included simple machines worked properly. For any problem arises, the repair team has to be called to fix it. Repair team member has to identify where is the problem actually arise. Here augmented reality plays important role. Backend server is provided with diagram of design of an airplane where invention application is installed. Repair team member wear augmented reality enabled device. Repair team member go to an airplane. When repair team member look into an airplane machines, the all small simple machine is seen to him/her. Repair team member can identify where is actual problem. And invention application shows the probable solution to augmented related enabled device screen which helps repair team member to fix the problem.
The present invention implemented as a combination of both hardware and software.
There are some advantages of the present invention such as;
It is time saving. Before this invention, the repair team member has to detect the problematic part of airplane. This is really a hectic job. For this try and error method should be done. This application of augmented reality allows repair technicians to address service requests faster and with greater efficiency, helping to reduce downtime and increase airplane productivity.
Invention application helps to achieve faster mean time to repair.
It has higher first-time-fix-rate.
It improves the related uptime of repairing.
The present system should find the exact problematic part of an airplane.
The present system not only detect the problematic part of airplane but also suggest probable solution to it with the help of augmented reality technology.
The present invention can be better understood with the help of examples.
Example 1:
An airplane gets a problem and airplane is breakdown. Now the repair team member goes to the airplane. The said member wear augmented reality enabled device. At backend server, the design of airplane is provided. Repair team member can see inner simple machines included into airplane. Repair team member can identify where is actual problem in the airplane. Invention application suggest probable solutions to problem on augmented reality enabled device.
It should be kept in mind that the described embodiment(s) is only presented by way of example and should not be construed as limiting the inventive concept to any particular hardware and software configuration.
The present invention is not limited to components, which is mentioned in the description. Based on the same concept, repairing an airplane with augmented reality can be built. Those who are familiar in the art will understand that a number of variations may be made in the disclosed embodiments, all without departing from the scope of the invention, which is defined solely by the appended claims.
