Abstract: The invention discloses the system and method for structural health monitoring by using internet of things (IoT) technology. The invention application is installed at smart phone. At very initial stage, multiple sensors are attached to structure to check health of it. User open application on smart phone, sensors sense data related to structure and send it to smart phone. User can understand the condition and health of structure, and also, can detect the accident in future.

1) The structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT) comprising of;
a. Any high definition smart phone – storing data from smart sensors and invention application is installed;
b. Sensors – sense whether particular structure is damage or not and send data to smart phone; and
c. Wi-Fi modem – maintain connectivity between smart phone and sensors.
2) The system claimed in claim 1 wherein, multiple sensors are mounted on structure to check it health.

, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT). The present invention relates to generally structural health monitoring of construction field.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Structural health monitoring refers to the process of implementing a damage detection and characterization strategy for engineering structures such as bridges and buildings.
Structural Health Monitoring is a process, which used to find the safety of the structure. Structural health monitoring refers to the process of implementing a damage detection and characterization strategy for engineering structures such as bridges and buildings.
For helping engineers recognize poor structural conditions and other safety issues, advances in SHM also help professionals determine potential future risks to safety. This has been particularly useful in preventing water and flood damage caused by failed dams, dykes, pipelines, and other similar structures.
Currently there is no such system which should tell when structural health monitoring done to predicate any upcoming accidents and estimate useful life span of structure.
The present invention solves the above problem with the help of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. With the help of internet of things enabled sensors structural health monitoring team can detect the size and location of damage.
The phrase the Internet of Things (IoT) means any object or machine component can have sensors installed to monitor operating conditions, performance levels and/or physical states. In the construction industry, this commonly refers to telematics. The Internet of Things isn't just permeating the construction industry.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and so on which enable these objects to collect and exchange data.
The concept of IoT has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction sector is structural health monitoring.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is that, the system and method for structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT).
Another object of the invention is that, can detect size and location of damage.
Other object of the invention is that, Internet of Things enabled sensors are mounted to structure to sense data about structure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method for structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT). The structural health monitoring application is installed at smart phone. At very initial stage multiple sensors installed on structure. User open the application on smart phone. The sensor senses the various parameters related to structure and send data to cloud with the help of wi-fi modem. The cloud sends sense data to smart phone which helps user to understand about structural health monitoring.

Internet of Things (IoT) has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT in construction is structural health monitoring.
The method and system for alert for structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of:
Any high definition smart phone – storing data from smart sensors and invention application is installed
Sensors – sense whether particular structure is damage or not and send data to smart phone
Wi-Fi Modem – maintain connectivity between smart phone and sensors
The multiple sensors with internet of things enabled sensor are mounted on structure. This sensor checks current state of structure by tracking variables such as vibration, strain, stress and other physical phenomena, responses and conditions.
The structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of following steps;
Step 1) The structural health monitoring application is installed at smart phone
Step 2) Multiple internet of things enabled sensors are mounted at structure for checking health of structure
Step 3) Wi-Fi modem is installed for connectivity between smart phone and sensors
Step 4) User starts the invention application on phone, the sensor sense parametric values and send data to smart phone
Step 5) User get all the values related to structural health on smart phone
This is the basic model of structural health monitoring application. And scope of invention is not limited to this only.
The internet of things enabled sensor, specially strain sensor, vibration sensor, stress sensor and other physical phenomena, responses and conditions mounted on structure to check its health. The main purpose of this invention is that to check whether particular structure is damage or not. And it detects further accident.
The system and method for structural health monitoring by using Internet of Things (IoT) has some advantages such as:
Accurate detection – due to sensors attached to structure it increases the percentage of accuracy to detect the damage of structure.
Require less time – as compare to manual checking or monitoring of structural health, the invention application surely require less time, which result in save in time and money.
Prevent accident – As invention helps to detect the future accident, preventive actions can be taken to avoid any accidents.
The invention system provides data about the changes in a structure due to the aging of materials, environmental factors or accidental damage. Typically, invention system is devoted to monitoring humidity, temperature, accelerations, tensile stress, compressive stress and building materials degradation.
Take an example of the invention, for monitoring the structural sensors are mounted on structure. With the help of this invention user can come various parameter of structure. And also, system detect the future accident with sensor values.
It’s no longer necessary to send worker to check out everything. The invention solves the all problems related to structural health monitoring.
