System And Method For Variable Repetition Rate Shot To Shot Rapid Scan Pump Probe And 2 D Electronic Spectroscopy

Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VARIABLE REPETITION RATE SHOT-TO-SHOT RAPID SCAN PUMP-PROBE AND 2D ELECTRONIC SPECTROSCOPY Embodiments of this disclosure is related to a system and a method that provides with a time-resolved pump- probe spectrometer which resolves the sample spectral information across a >100 nm visible spectral bandwidth with sub-200 fs time resolution with scatter robust high sensitivity, while working at the highest possible throughput limited only by the camera speed for any laser repetition rate. The spectrometer throughput is electronically controllable to work for any laser repetition rates in the range of <1 kHz to a higher range that is limited only by the camera readout rate. The camera electronics, pump beam modulation and the stage encoder may all be synchronized to the laser repetition rate such that the pump-probe delay can be scanned continuously (rapid scan) instead of stepwise. The pump-probe spectrometer of the invention allows for a novel synchronization and data collection scheme with a rapid scan shot-to-shot detection approach adaptable to high-repetition rate and high SNR 2DES spectroscopy.
