Abstract: A system (102) and method for generating a lighting pattern corresponding to charging status of a battery in a vehicle (112) is disclosed. The system comprises one or more Light Emitting Diode (LED) drivers (106) configured to control activation of at least one LED (108), positioned at one or more predefined locations. The ECU (104) comprises a receiving module (202) for receiving an input signal, indicating the charging status of the battery, from an input source when the vehicle (112) is connected to the input source. The ECU (104) also comprises a selection module (204) for selecting at least one LED driver (106) based on the current charge level. Further, the ECU (104) comprises a pattern generation module (206) for generating the lighting pattern by illuminating the at least one LED (108), associated with at least one LED driver selected, starting from a center of the one or more predefined locations and extending towards outward edges of the one or more predefined locations.
