Abstract: A method of sorting one or more shipments, the method comprising: - receiving, at a set of buckets [102], the one or more shipments; - detecting, by a detection unit [104], a drop location [106] for the one or more shipments; - detecting, by the detection unit [104], a receiving capacity of a bag associated with the drop location [106]; - generating, by a processing unit [108], one of a positive indication and a negative indication based on the receiving capacity of the bag; - enabling, by the processing unit [108], the set of buckets [102] to drop the one or more shipments in a bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments, wherein the enabling of the set of buckets [102] is based on the positive indication; and - sorting, using the set of buckets [102], the one or more shipments by dropping the one or more shipments in the bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments.
We Claim:
1. A method of sorting one or more shipments, the method comprising:
- receiving, at a set of buckets [102], the one or more shipments;
- detecting, by a detection unit [104], a drop location [106] for the one or more shipments;
- detecting, by the detection unit [104], a receiving capacity of a bag associated with the drop location [106];
- generating, by a processing unit [108], one of a positive indication and a negative indication based on the receiving capacity of the bag;
- enabling, by the processing unit [108], the set of buckets [102] to drop the one or more shipments in a bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments, wherein the enabling of the set of buckets [102] is based on the positive indication; and
- sorting, using the set of buckets [102], the one or more shipments by dropping the one or more shipments in the bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments.
2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] comprises four side walls, a motor-powered bottom flap and one or more camera devices configured at bottom side of the motor-powered bottom flap.
3. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] is attached to a set of actuators to move said each bucket to one or more drop locations [106].
4. The method as claimed in claim 3, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] is arranged on a XXY axis parallel to the one or more drop locations [106].
5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the one or more drop locations [106] are arranged in a matrix form and each drop location [106] from the one or more drop locations [106] is associated with a bag for receiving the
one or more shipments.
6. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drop location [106] for the one or more shipments is detected based on analyzing one or more details present on the one or more shipments and coordinates of the bags associated with the one or more drop locations [106].
7. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the receiving capacity of the bag associated with the drop location [106] is detected by the detection unit [104] using the one or more camera devices configured at the bottom side of the motor-powered bottom flap.
8. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the positive indication is generated based on detection of an available receiving capacity of the bag and the negative indication is generated based on detection of an unavailable receiving capacity of the bag.
9. The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the set of buckets [102] are enabled to drop the one or more shipments by operating the motor-powered bottom flap of the set of buckets [102] by the processing unit [108].
10. The method as claimed in claim 1, the method further comprises generating an alarm by the detection unit [104], in at least one of: an event of unsuccessful detection of the drop location [106] for the one or more shipments, and an event of generation of the negative indication.
11. The method as claimed in claim 10, the method further comprises taking at least one of one or more manual bag change actions and one or more automatic bag change actions based on the event of generation of the negative indication.
12. A system of sorting one or more shipments, the system comprising:
- one or more drop locations [106], wherein each drop location [106] from the one or more drop locations [106] is associated with a bag for receiving the one or more shipments;
- a set of buckets [102], configured to drop, the one or more shipments in
a bag arranged at a corresponding drop location [106] of the one or
more shipments;
- a detection unit [104], configured to detect:
the drop location [106] for the one or more shipments, and
a receiving capacity of the bag associated with the drop location
[106], and
- a processing unit [108], configured to:
generate, one of a positive indication and a negative indication based on the receiving capacity of the bag, and
enable, the set of buckets [102] to drop the one or more shipments in the bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments, wherein the enabling of the set of buckets [102] is based on the positive indication, and wherein:
the set of buckets [102] is further configured to sort the one or more shipments by dropping the one or more shipments in the bag associated with the corresponding drop location [106] of the one or more shipments.
13. The system as claimed in claim 12, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] comprises four side walls, a motor-powered bottom flap and one or more camera devices configured at bottom side of the motor-powered bottom flap.
14. The system as claimed in claim 13, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] is attached to a set of actuators to move said each bucket to one or more drop locations [106].
15. The system as claimed in claim 14, wherein each bucket from the set of buckets [102] is arranged on a XXY axis parallel to the one or more drop locations [106].
16. The system as claimed in claim 15, wherein the one or more drop locations
[106] are arranged in a matrix form.
17. The system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the drop location [106] for the one or more shipments is detected based on analyzing one or more details present on the one or more shipments and coordinates of the bags associated with the one or more drop locations [106].
18. The system as claimed in claim 13, wherein the receiving capacity of the bag associated with the drop location [106] is detected by the detection unit [104] using the one or more camera devices configured at the bottom side of the motor-powered bottom flap.
19. The system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the positive indication is generated based on detection of an available receiving capacity of the bag and the negative indication is generated based on detection of an unavailable receiving capacity of the bag.
20. The system as claimed in claim 13, wherein the set of buckets [102] are enabled to drop the one or more shipments by operating the motor-powered bottom flap of the set of buckets [102] by the processing unit [108].
21. The system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the detection unit [104] is further configured to generate an alarm, in at least one of: an event of unsuccessful detection of the drop location [106] for the one or more shipments, and an event of generation of the negative indication.
The system as claimed in claim 21, wherein the processing unit [108] is further configured to enable at least one of one or more manual bag change actions and one or more automatic bag change actions based on the event of generation of the negative indication.
