“System And Method To Achieve Customer Centric Approach For Designing Interior By Using Virtual Reality Technology”

Abstract: The invention discloses the system and method to achieve customer centric approach for designing interior by using virtual reality technology. Customer wear Virtual reality enabled headset and open the application of interior designing. Customer can experience that he/she is the part of virtual scene which is created by architect team. Customer checks whether all interior work is as per his/her demand or not. If not then he/she give suggestion to architect team for changing the design.

, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention discloses the system and method to achieve customer centric approach for designing interior using virtual reality technology. Particularly, the invention relates to architecture field.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In architecture field the Interior design is the main factor which improves look of the building very pleasant. Interior design is done through the labour intensive and time-consuming process of obtaining measurements of rooms and measurements of objects to be placed in the room. The measurements are inputted to computer software and renders a mock-up of what the interior place could look like. Mock-ups are just that, a draft of what something could look like. There are no real-world items are in the rendering and it is not a replacement for real world object placement.
Customer satisfaction is the key object of architectural field. If customer is satisfied then, customer’s mouth publicity will surely increase the business of architectural firm. Currently interior decoration or planning is through computer software with generic 3D models on a flat 2D monitor. Software such as CAD (Computer Aided Design). But it wouldn’t help so much to imagine how it will look when work get completed. There is no such a system right now, which can tell or particularly show the customer how the interior work will look like after completion.
The present invention suggests the solution to above problem. It suggests the system and method to achieve customer centric approach for designing interior by using virtual reality technology.
In recent years, virtual and augmented reality have become the latest technology in visual immersion. The present invention seeks to combine the technology of virtual reality with interior design.
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D world.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, the system and method to achieve customer centric approach for designing interior using virtual reality technology.
Another object of the invention is, VR (virtual reality) enabled device is needed (such as VR headset).
Other object of the invention is, virtual scene of interior is seen with the help of VR headset.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method to achieve customer centric approach for designing interior using virtual reality technology. The application of interior design is installed at backend server. VR headset is connected with backend server. Customer wear VR headset, can check the interior decoration of room or space virtually. If customer want to change anything, he/she would tell to architect team about it. By keeping customer opinion in a centre, the interior decoration is done.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system and method to achieve the customer centric approach for designing interior using virtual reality technology.
The present invention system is comprising of contents such as;
Any computing device with active internet connection (such as computer, laptop or tablet) – interior designing for customer centric approach application is installed
Interior designing for customer centric approach application
VR headset – connect with the any computing device
Wi-Fi modem – used for internet connectivity between VR headset and any computing device
The present invention implemented in a combination of both hardware and software.
The present invention system is comprising of;
Step 1) The Interior designing for customer centric approach application is installed at any computing device (such as computer or laptop)
Step 2) Customer open the application
Step 3) Customer wear the VR headset
Step 4) Customer select the area for which interior design want to check
Step 5) Virtual workstation is created by application
Step 6) Customer can check whether particular selected area is ok with design interior or not
Step 7) Customer give his suggestion
Step 8) Architect team work as per customers suggestion
This is general overview of system. System is not bounded to this only.
Virtual Reality in Interior Design Industry involves close collaboration with a designer to understand the need of a customer for designing an aesthetically pleasing and functional space. Here by using this invention architect team member can show the customer how interior design would look like after completion of work for particular area. Due to virtual reality technology, customer would become one of the parts of virtual scene created by application.
Interior designing is typically seen as a time-consuming and costly process that is fraught with communication challenges. Customers at times find it difficult to define their need through verbal communication or using sketches, models, mock-up, etc. VR technology makes it easier to communicate and visualise by focusing on the rich immersive experience for a better realisation. It helps to customer how the particular area would look like when work is completed.
The advantage of the invention presented is as follows;
It engages and excites client. When architect team member has valuable ideas, he/she want to keep customer engaged and interested in their interior design.
It provides customer with valuable visuals. Customer can actually visualize how the particular area would look like when work is completed.
It puts customer happy and satisfied related to interior design work.
It helps architect team for decision making related to work.
The example of this invention is as, suppose customer wants to some empty space in hall but still want to have some basic furniture also. So, architect can design folding furniture for particular client. But there is risk, whether customer like it or not. So, with the help of this invention, architect team create a virtual scene for hall with folding furniture. And show the customer the virtually designed hall. Customer with VR headset can see the hall designing. If customer like it, then architect team can work further to make a same furniture. And if customer have some suggestion then, as per customers suggestion architect team can modify the design of hall. Due to virtual interior designing, time and money are saved for both, customer as well as architect team.
Customer satisfaction is the main motto of architect team. But in real environment, it is very difficult to achieve this. Some times it may happen customers find it difficult to define their need through verbal communication or using sketches, models, mock-up, etc. But by using this invention, it is very helpful to customer as well as architect team to understand the customer’s need, choice.
Virtual reality allows designers to push the boundaries of visualization, giving colleagues and clients new ways to experience and understand a building or space long before it is actually built.
