Abstract: The invention relates to Disclosed is a system for detecting and monitoring plume dispersion. The system comprises: a controller (100) configured to: receive in real-time stack data , data representing properties of particulate in pollutants, weather data from a reporting system at a remote location, converting received data into digital data (1,3,5) and storing in a database (2,4,6); an interface unit (7) configured to read said captured data in real-time from the database; a plume dispersion unit (8) configured to: calculate plume rise (?h) based on atmospheric stability parameters (sy, sz) and pollutant concentration C(x,y,z) inside the plume released from the stack at position x,y,z which is calculated based on digital data (2), emission rate (Q) based on digital data (1), stack exit diameter ( ), atmospheric pressure (P), velocity of pollutant gases at the stack exit ( ), wind speed (u), stack temperature ( ) and ambient temperature ( ); HMI for displaying results of the plume dispersion unit (8).
