Abstract: Abstract: System for harmonization of payloads on aircraft wherein harmonization procedure is carried out without any levelling of the aircraft. The Eleven reference points(la-lj) identified on the fuselage(fig l), are utilized to establish the aircraft co-ordinate system. During harmonization procedure, no movement is permitted on the aircraft. The various zones on the aircraft are identified to which specific adapters are fixed. A standard 14" CCR (Corner Cubic Reflector) is mounted on a base (with 10mm center height and 6H7 diameter shank) is inserted into the exposed end of the adapter(2a-2i). A Leica laser tracker is used to sight the target (CCR). After 11 optical tooling points are sighted, the readings are compared to the nominal values based on the aircraft CAD model. A tolerance of +/- 0.2 mm is considered allowable. The aircraft co-ordinate system is established based on these readings.
I/We Claim:
1. System and mechanism for harmonization of payloads on aircraft, comprising:
Identification of Eleven reference points(la-lj) on the fuselage (Fig I), such that the
reference points are booked on the fuselage (Figl ) and are utilized to establish the aircraft
co-ordinate system;
Plurality of specific light weight adapters designed to ascertain positional data for Side Air
Data Probe and Nose Air Data Probe, and are placed according to specific positions(2a-2i);
Positioning of harmonization board based on the aircraft co-ordinate system.
Positioning of aircraft at the designated marking on the floor to restrict movement of the
aircraft;
a standard lA" CCR (Corner Cubic Reflector with 10mm centre height and 6H7 diameter
shank) is inserted into the exposed end of each adapter and the Leica laser tracker is used to
sight the target (CCR), and;
after 11 optical tooling points are sighted, the readings are compared to the nominal values
based on the aircraft CAD model, and the aircraft co-ordinate system is established.
2. The system and mechanism according to claim 1, wherein fitting adapters snugly over SAD and NAD probes; pinned to confirm angular position. Each probe having 3 target Positions, the combination of which can establish the position of the respective probe (2a-2i) w.r.t the aircraft coordinate system;
