"System To Simulate The Aircraft Electrical Machine Explosion Proofness Test Condition"

Abstract: This system simulates the test condition & carry out the test in lieu of actual test of Explosion Proofness Test of Aircraft Electrical Machine (EUT/SG). The Aircraft Electrical machines (typically brushed DC Starter-Generator considered here) are mounted on aircraft engine gear box so close to engine and there is possibility of Explosion if these machines are not properly equipped to handle possibility of ingress of vapours created by fuel fumes. So, Aircraft manufacturer want a proven machine qualified through test as per various military and/or civil standard before fitting in the aircraft. The methodology conceptualizes the way to simulate explosive atmosphere by introducing the method/mechanism and means to create a practical set-up around a high-speed electrical machine while it is being operational at high speed range and being electrically loaded at any load.
