Systemic Risk Scenarios And Identification Of Systemic Risks In Programmes

Abstract: A system and method for generating systemic risk scenarios and identification of systemic risks in programmes is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a plurality of programme objectives and ascertaining the potential success and failure factors associated with each stage of the programme for the plurality of programme objectives. Further, converting the potential programme success and failure factors into a plurality of programme risk influencers to generate programme risk influence relationships based on the programme risk influence rules and historical programme risk influence data depicting the potential programme risk influencers at each stage of the programme. Further, analysis is performed on the programme risk influence relationships and a programme risk scenario map is generated to identify a plurality of programme systemic risks from the programme risk scenario map. A systemic risk report is then generated based on the identified programme systemic risks associated with each programme.

Specification

Claims:1. A system for generation of systemic risk scenarios and identification of systemic risks in a programme, the system comprising:
a processor;
a programme risk input module coupled to the processor, the programme risk input module to:
input a plurality of programme objectives from a database;
obtain a plurality of potential programme success and failure factors associated with each of the plurality of programme objectives;
a programme risk influencer conversion module to:
ascertain a plurality of success and failure factors associated with each stage of the programme and convert the potential programme success and failure factors into a plurality of programme risk influencers corresponding to the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the conversion includes generating a programme risk influence relationships based on a plurality of programme risk influence rules and historical programme risk influence data depicting the potential programme risk influencers at each stage of the programme; and
a programme risk scenario module to:
analyze the programme risk influence relationships and generate a programme risk scenario map; and
a programme systemic risk identification module to:
identify a plurality of programme systemic risks from the programme risk scenario map based on the programme systemic risk rules and
generate a programme systemic risk report for the plurality of programme objectives, the risk report including programme systemic risks associated with a particular programme.
2. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of programme objectives comprises of a plurality of project and non-project objectives, a programme structure, and various stages of a programme and projects life cycle.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the programme systemic risk influencer conversion module converts the programme success and failure factors into programme risk influencers depicting a plurality of programme risk influencers at each stage of the programme life cycle.

4. The system of claim 1 further comprising a systemic risk programme admin module, the systemic risk programme admin module to update the database at regular intervals, the updates including adding users, deleting users, changing user privileges, creating programme structure, facilitating back-up of the programme risk database, and related administrative tasks.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the programme risk influencer conversion module further comprises a programme systemic risk influencer scenario module to generate various scenarios related to the programme systemic risks associated with each of the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the various scenarios generated are in the form of programme risk scenario maps.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the programme systemic risk identification module comprises a programme systemic risk rules engine module to add, modify, delete the programme systemic risk rules.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the programme systemic risk for a programme can be identified at any stage of the programme life cycle.

8. A computer implemented method for generation of systemic risk scenarios and identification of systemic risks in a programme, the method being implemented by a processor of a computing system, the method comprising:
obtaining a plurality of programme objectives, wherein each of the programme objectives is designated with potential success and failure factors;
ascertaining the potential success and failure factors associated with each stage of the programme for the plurality of programme objectives;
converting the potential programme success and failure factors into a plurality of programme risk influencers corresponding to the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the conversion includes generating a programme risk influence relationships based on the programme risk influence rules and historical programme risk influence data depicting the potential programme risk influencers at each stage of the programme
analyzing the programme risk influence relationships and generating a programme risk scenario map
identifying a plurality of programme systemic risks from the programme risk scenario map based on the programme systemic risk rules; and
generating a systemic risk report based on the identified programme systemic risks associated with each programme, wherein the systemic risk report includes systemic risks associated with various stages of a programme

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the method further comprises generating various scenarios related to the programme systemic risks associated with each of the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the various scenarios generated are in the form of programme risk scenario maps.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the method further comprises identifying a risk scenario map, wherein based on the risk scenario map, the identification module dynamically updates the programme systemic risk rules by adding, modifying, or deleting the systemic programme risk rules.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the method further comprises identifying a programme systemic risk at any stage of the programme life cycle.

12. A non-transitory computer readable medium having embodied thereon a computer program for executing a method comprising:
obtaining a plurality of potential programme success and failure factors associated with each of the plurality of programme objectives;
ascertaining a plurality of success and failure factors associated with each stage of the programme and convert the potential programme success and failure factors into a plurality of programme risk influencers corresponding to the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the conversion includes generating a programme risk influence relationships based on the programme risk influence rules and historical programme risk influence data depicting the potential programme risk influencers at each stage of the programme; and
analyzing the programme risk influence relationships and generate a programme risk scenario map;
identifying a plurality of programme systemic risks from the programme risk scenario map based on the programme systemic risk rules and
generating a programme systemic risk report for the plurality of programme objectives, the risk report including programme systemic risks associated with a particular program

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium as claimed in claim 12, wherein the method further comprises generating various systemic risk scenarios related to the programme systemic risks associated with each of the plurality of programme objectives, wherein the various systemic risk scenarios generated are in the form of programme risk scenario maps.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium as claimed in claim 12, wherein the programme systemic risk identification module comprises a programme systemic risk rules

engine module, the systemic programme risk rules engine module to add, modify, delete the programme systemic risk rules.
