Abstract: ABSTRACT Provided disclosure describes a reflector guard for reflector unit of the tail lamp assembly. This guard is made up of polymers and has particular resistant capability such that it does not get damaged by fuel contact. Said reflector guard is fitted with the tail lamp assembly such that it is guarding rear side of the tail lamp reflector which is in neighbourhood of the fuel tank. Said guard can be fitted with the tail lamp in a sandwich mounting type design between wire clamp and reflector. Further, this also can be snap fitted along the back surface of the reflector. This back guard has provision for clean wire routing and sophisticated aesthetic.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a protection guard for a tail lamp of a scooter type vehicle and more particularly to an inner protection guard for reflector of tail lamp of said scooter type vehicle. This protection guard protects inner or unexposed side of the tail lamp.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In existing layout of scooter type vehicles, fuel tank assembly is located at rear side of scooter type vehicle, which is placed above the inner side tail lamp assembly. Fuel tank is generally mounted directly on the frame with fasteners. Due to layout constraint, fuel tank assembly is mounted in close proximity of the tail lamp assembly. In this layout, the fuel tank cap is exposed and located behind the seat. During fuel filling there is a possibility some fuel spillage occurs on the corresponding inner side of the tail lamp assembly.
Said spillage results in damage of the inner side of the tail lamp reflector and generally develops cracks on it. Such damage leads to poor durability of tail lamp and customer dissatisfaction.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Main objective of present invention is to provide a protection guard for rear side of the tail lamp. This guard is made up of polymers and has particular resistant capability such that it does not get damaged by fuel contact. Said guard is fitted with the tail lamp assembly such that it is guarding rear side of the tail lamp which is in neighbourhood of the fuel tank.
Further, back surface of the reflector of the tail lamp assembly is mounted below the fuel tank assembly such that it is neighbouring fuel filling opening of the fuel tank. Due to spillage, back surface of the tail lamp reflector comes in contact with the fuel which results in damage of reflector.
Mentioned guard is attached with the tail lamp assembly such that back surface of tail lamp reflector is fully guarded. This guard is made up of polymer material which is highly chemical resistant, so this acts as a shield against petrol spillage and prevents tail lamp assembly from damage.
Said guard can be fitted with the tail lamp in a sandwich mounting type design between wire clamp and reflector. Further, this also can be snap fitted along the back surface of the reflector. This back guard has provision for clean wire routing and sophisticated aesthetic.
Summary provided above explains the basic features of the invention and does not limit the scope of the invention. Additional detailed information related to the enablement of the invention will be provided in the detailed description and accompanying claims. Scope of the invention shall be based on the claims provided.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing(s). Provided drawings are incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention and illustrates several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention. Drawings given below are provided to support the description of the invention and are not limiting the scope of the present invention. A brief description of the drawing is a follows:
Figure 1 is presenting a perspective view of a typical scooter type vehicle.
Figure 2 is depicting the cut section of rear portion of the scooter type of scooter type vehicle showing essential embodiments of the invention.
Figure 3 is showing an exploded view of the essential embodiments of the invention in order to present mounting arrangement for enablement of the invention.
Figure 4 and Figure 5 are depicting mounting details of the essential embodiments of the claimed invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that best enabling arrangements of the invention can be explained through all possible embodiments and examples of it. The invention may have application to all kind of two wheeled vehicles.
Referring to Figure 1, a scooter type vehicle 01 assembly is shown in which tail lamp assembly 02 and fuel tank assembly 08 A located at rear side of scooter type vehicle 01. The fuel tank assembly 08A is situated such a way that, fuel tank lid 08 is open on back surface of the vehicle 01 for fuel refilling purpose.
Figure 2 further shows a sectional view of vehicle 01 rear side depicting the tail lamp reflector 117 on the rear side of the tail lamp assembly 02 such that said reflector 117 is located below the opening 08 of the fuel tank assembly 08A. During fuel filling spillage of fuel happens and spilled fuel flows downwards to the backside of the reflector 117 of the tail lamp 02.
Chemical compositions present in fuel affects back surface of the reflector 117 of tail lamp 02 and results in damages such as cracks and broken surface. To prevent such damage to the reflector 117 of the tail lamp 02 a guard 100 is mounted along the back surface of the tail lamp reflector 117.
As shown in Figure 3, Figure 4 and Figure 5, reflector guard 100 is mounted along the back surface of the tail lamp reflector 117. For assembling tail lamp assembly, reflector guard 100 is aligned with the reflector 117 back of the tail lamp assembly 02 through a set alignment slots (116, 101) provided on guard 100 as well as tail lamp assembly 117. Mentioned alignment slots (116, 101) also serve as a passage for wiring harness and hence a clean and organised wire routing can be achieved.
Reflector guard 100 has upper surface, side surfaces, back surface and lower surface fixed with the tail lamp assembly for alignment. Said surfaces has mounting points facilitating mounting of corresponding surfaces with the tail lamp through fastening means such as snap fit, screw mounting etc. For best mode alignment of the reflector guard 100 and the back surface of the tail lamp reflector 117, snap fit mounting arrangements are provided on tail lamp assembly 02 as well as reflector guard 100. However screw mounting or any other fastening means can be used as per the requirement of the product. Reflector guard 100 is fixed/ snap fitted with the mounting arrangements (12, 13) provided on the back surface of tail lamp assembly through the mounting arrangements (11, 14) provided on the reflector guard 100.
On alignment of reflector guard 100 with the back surface of tail lamp reflector 117, reflector guard 100 is fixed with the tail lamp assembly 02 through screw mounting on lower and upper mounting points (102, 110, 106, 104) provided on tail lamp assembly 02 with corresponding mounting points (115, 109, 105, 103) on reflector guard 100. Reflector guard 100 is further fixed/ snap fitted with at a centre point (107, 108) on the top of tail lamp assembly 02 ensuring further reduction in movement vibration.
Upper surface of the tail lamp reflector guard 100 is forming a horizontal surface extending rearwardly and forming an inclined surface extending towards the back surface that is further extending vertically downwards.
