, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a taxi dispatch system. The present invention more particularly relates to a taxi dispatch system based on internet of things.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Current urban development is increasingly rapid, taxi capacity significantly improved, it has become one of the preferred means of transport to travel, but in real life, taxi driving is difficult but also a very common phenomenon and problems. Now that the number of private cars increased significantly year by year, the construction of the subway or urban road planning, traffic prone to congestion, especially in the high commuting time, coupled with poor communication between the taxi and passenger information, cannot achieve real-time call between a taxi and a passenger and scheduling, resulting in many empty taxis running, but passengers are a long time not been able to ride the phenomenon, waste a lot of time and resources, is not conducive to the development of urban transport.
On-demand taxi firms like Uber and Ola have made a negative impact on the traditional taxi firms which uses dispatch systems for fleet management. The traditional taxi businesses are hanging on the thread. Also, the on-demand bubble is on the verge of burst. General public and drivers are showing their rant towards the ride handling firms because of their complacency towards rider safety, and exorbitant fares. This is the right time for the traditional taxis to make a comeback. But they have to equip themselves with the latest technologies to be effective.
So there is a need for a taxi dispatch system based on internet of things. The present invention helps us to improve smart taxi network to personalize our journeys. Onboard sensors sends user quick updates on scheduled arrival and departure times, and when these are wirelessly connected to user mobiles, user have the ability to track vehicle progress through a mobile app. If there’s a traffic jam in a certain area, user can see this ahead of time, and work out an alternative route to get to where we need to be. Customers can also get to know an optimum route so that user can save time and energy. Customers is also able to view and pay for their entire journey in one go, keeping costs down and saving time when booking. So, a person who is coming out of an airport or train station can see whether there is a taxi and book it beforehand itself. Taxi firms can also use the intelligence system to better navigate around congested urban areas.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide user with reduced Cost, improve user’s convenience, and speed.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system in which all the processes are combined on a centralized cloud network to gather real-time information.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system which can provide features like on-time pickups, regular updates on driver details, estimated time of arrival and trip management and Safety.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, A taxi dispatch system based on internet of things for giving traffic information system comprising of; allowing the passenger to place a request for booking of the taxi on the database of the website; looking for registered taxis within a predetermined distance who respond to the pickup alert; Road side unit for collecting vehicle information; Providing information about traffic to the drivers; Wherein the said CCTV in the taxi compartment, real-time location monitor via GPS tracking, service area coverage, publicly available QR code for ease of taxi access, driver information, transaction log, etc., to insure the passenger themselves.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Fig 1 is the flowchart for the taxi dispatch system based on internet of things.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH RESPECT TO DRAWINGS:
The present invention is a taxi dispatch system based on internet of things and provides user with reduced Cost, improve user’s convenience, and speed and provides a system in which all the processes are combined on a centralized cloud network to gather real-time information. The system of the present invention provides features like on-time pickups, regular updates on driver details, estimated time of arrival and trip management and Safety.The present invention bridges the gap in between the passengers and drivers through one-on-one communication, licensed drivers and call masking features and also checks fuel, tire pressure, and many other factors in a taxi with the help of IoT. The system of the present invention provides better service and efficiency through the IoT powered taxi dispatch system.
In one embodiment, A taxi dispatch system based on internet of things for giving traffic information system comprising of;
allowing the passenger to place a request for booking of the taxi on the database of the website;
looking for registered taxis within a predetermined distance who respond to the pickup alert;
Road side unit for collecting vehicle information;
Providing information about traffic to the drivers;
Wherein the said CCTV in the taxi compartment, real-time location monitor via GPS tracking, service area coverage, publicly available QR code for ease of taxi access, driver information, transaction log, etc., to insure the passenger themselves.
The present invention allows the passenger to place a request as usual. The system of the present invention only look for registered taxis within a predetermined distance who respond to the pickup alert and sort out the nearest taxi in proximity order. In addition, a few precautions are established to insure operational safety. For instance, CCTV in the taxi compartment, real-time location monitor via GPS tracking, service area coverage, publicly available QR code for ease of taxi access, driver information, transaction log, etc., to insure the passenger themselves and their close ones a peace of mind. All these require interoperating devices over the IoT networking to handle the ride and good service. The performance measurement function is placed at the entry and exit points of the operation scheme, whereby some important statistics can be collected and analyzed accordingly. At the application layer, a user accesses the system. His related information is filtered to compose an inquiry which is subsequently sent through the GUI interface to the middleware layer.
Meanwhile, his location information is submitted to account unit for transaction recording. The output is displayed on the user’s device for activity summary. The middleware layer archives the transactions and communicates with physical layer to transmit information out to the network gateway. The following performance statistics could be gathered from the above proposed system activities: 1) Number of accepted requests from the passengers 2) Number of registered pickups 3) Number of successful pickups 4) Duration of wait for pickup 5) Average registered pickup 6) Business ratio The first statistic is a direct request from the passenger. The second one counts the number of taxis within the allowable proximity registered to pick up. This number limits to two to prevent opportunity waste for the stand-by taxi. These two statistics are obtained from input performance measurement. The number of successful pickups counts of the passengers who reach their destination. Duration of wait measures how long the taxi waits for the passenger. The average registered pick up tallies both successful and opportunity waste pickups for future service improvement, that is, no stand-by registered taxi required yet still insure 100% pick up. The last statistic evaluates how well the request is successfully fulfilled by determining the ratio of number of passengers’ pickups to number of requests.
