"Technique Of Identifying Leakage Through Automotive Body"

Abstract: The invention relates to a system of identifying leakage through automotive body. The said system comprises a device made of plastic dust container with an inlet air pipe for supplying pressurized air inside for forcing out dust through a nozzle. A flexible cover to create temporary chamber to suit body shape at localized area with said Nozzle in side the said cover for dispersing dust. The arrangement is such that When air blast is given in dust container through air pipe, due to air pressure, dust comes out through nozzle and starts spreading on localized restricted area due to flexible cover over the said nozzle and if any leakage comes out of the automotive body in the form smoke.

THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE NATURE OF THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED

THE INVENTION:-
The invention relates to a system of identifying leakage through automotive body This is the simple and innovative technique identified for finding leakage through vehicle body joinery, seals, rat holes, etc. The technique comprises of simple smoke generating machine.
During validation of the vehicle, there was a need to find out leakages through body joinery, seals and cat holes. This identification of leakage was a challenging task. Once the path of leakage and location is identified, then it is easy to rectify it in view of improving HVAC efficiency. Improving effectiveness of HVAC means reducing load on compressor that leads to improving fuel efficiency and thereby improved performance of the vehicle.
THE OBJECT OF INVENTION:-
It is an object of invention to provide system to detect leakage through the vehicle body joinery, seals, rat holes to avoid load on compressor of vehicle air conditioner. It is object of invention to provide simple device which is easy to fit, light, portable and safe to handle.
It is the object of the invention to provide a system having a technique to find out dust ingress in localized area on vehicle body through seal.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION:-
Accordingly invention provides a _system of identifying leakage through automotive body comprises a device made of plastic dust container with an inlet air pipe for supplying pressurized air inside for forcing out dust through a nozzle; a flexible cover to create temporary chamber to suit body shape at localized area with said Nozzle in side the said cover for dispersing dust; the arrangement is such that When air blast is given in dust container through air pipe, due to air pressure, dust comes out through nozzle and starts spreading on localized restricted area due to flexible cover over the said nozzle and if any leakage comes out of the automotive body in the form smoke.

Invention is described with reference to the figure of accompanying drawing wherein: Figure 1 shows the schematic view of device having plastic container with the nozzle covered by the flexible cover suit body.
DESCRIPTION:-
The device used in this technique of identifying dust leakage comprises of plastic dust container, Flexible cover to create temporary chamber to suit body shape at localized area, Nozzle in side cover for dispersing dust as shown in Figure 1, and air pipe. When air blast is given in dust container through air pipe, due to air pressure dust starts scattering and as it does not have any place to go it comes out through nozzle and spreads on localized restricted area due to flexible cover over nozzle. The advantages of this devised technique of identifying the leakage are as under:
- Easy to fit: As the equipment with smoke generator machine is very compact and small, it can be accommodated very easily inside the vehicle body on seat.
- Light in weight: The device is very small leading to light in weight. One person can easily lift and manage to keep inside the body.
- Portable: Due to its light weight, it can be easily taken from one place to another place by a person.
- Harmless to human: The smoke generated by this device is harmless to the human being and therefore can be used very safely for the intended purpose.
- Does not react: It does not react with the body of the vehicle that is under test. It is harmless to interior parts of the vehicle body.
