Tesla Turbine With Boundary Layer Seperator

Abstract: In the present invention the testa turbine modified with boundary line separator. This separator improves the torque of tesia turbine which was the main drawback of prior tesia turbine. The main hindrance in commercialisation of tesia turbine is weak torque. In the present invention this hindrance abolished.

3. Background of invention with regards to the drawback associated with the
known arts: We know about the turbines like steam turbine, gas turbine, and Tesla
Turbine. Tesla was a great scientist. He invented a turbine called the Tesla Turbine.
He claims 100% efficiency but after 100 years of invention, tesla turbine has not been
commercialised. Tesla turbine works on friction and cohesion force between discs and
working fluid. Friction is a weak force and torque depends on difference of speed
between working fluid and discs. In the tesla turbine, the speed of working fluid is
different at periphery and centre of the discs. This difference create a drag and pull.
Due to this, the tesla turbine produce weak torque and did not commercialized. In the
present invention, the separator provided between the discs for the smooth flow. These
separators provide a firm path for the working fluid. This path maintain the uniform
speed of working fluid and the drag effect vanished. Therefore, tesla turbine with a
boundary layer separator has more torque.
4. Object of the Invention: The principle object of this invention is to improve the torque of tesla turbine.
5. The summary of Invention: The present invention is a modified tesla turbine in which boundaries provided between the layers by inserting wire between discs or by moulding the disc in the desired shape. These boundary layer separator controls the sudden change of orbits, speed and pressure of working fluids.
6. Detailed description of the invention- Present invention
In the present invention a wire of, 1 millimetre or 2 millimetre is used as separator to maintain a gap between discs and provide a uniform passage to the working fluid. The energy of working fluid transfer to the discs through cohesion and friction as it

done in conventional tesla turbine. The energy develops by centrifugal force is also transferred to discs through wire separator. The wire separator minimize the vibration of discs, maintain a uniform gap and passage. Wire separator also stops the sudden change of boundary layer.

8. Detailed description of the invention with reference to the drawing-
According to figure 1, the working fluid enters from the inlet (i) and rotate the disc (ii). Disc divided into various orbits by a 1 or 2 millimetre wire (iii) according to requirements of spacing between discs which will work as boundary layer separator. This wire (iii) welded with discs (ii) provide a barrier between boundary layers, therefore it is called boundary layer separator. Many boundary layer separator can provide according to requirement or design. These separators make the orbits just like in atoms. The high energy particles enters in the orbit from the opening (v) and transfer its energy to the discs and enter into the next low energy orbit through the next opening. After the last orbit particle of the working fluid transfer its maximum energy to the disc and go away from the exit (vi).

1.A tesia turbine with boundary layer separator by welding of wire with disc or moulded the disc in desired shape.
2. A friction turbine with boundary layer separator in shapes like cone or hemisphere etc.
