Test apparatus handling fixture for Climatic Chamber
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is related to mechanical fixture for holding & fixing of test piece
in front of Climatic Chamber port hole.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The reliability of electronic and mechanical assemblies exposed to severe working
environments, has been tested by subjecting the assemblies to a prescribed
treatment in different climatic condition. Testing arrangement for the said article
made in such a way that only article should exposed in different climatic condition
and the test panels, sensors & other testing equipment should be out side the
climatic chamber. The existing Climatic chambers port hole are already available at
fixed location in chamber or some time they can configured according to customer
requirement. The port hole position play very important role for testing of test piece.
In this case the test article which is placed inside the climatic chamber should be
perfectly aligned with receiver section of sensor of the test equipment which is place
at outside the climatic chamber. Presently there is no such manufacturer or supplier
of climatic chamber who are providing fixture that facilitates the alignment of test
article according to port hole of chamber. The invented fixture eliminates the above
mentioned drawback of standard climatic chambers.

SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
Previously there is no such type of arrangement to hold the testing sensor
arrangement from outside the climatic chamber for testing of article under different
climatic condition. The said testing equipment fixed with test article goes inside the
climatic chamber for testing purpose in different climatic condition. This arrangement
cause climatic cycle of test equipment along with testing article which result decay in
service life of test equipment.
New adopted Methodology for holding the test equipment in front of port hole of
Climatic Chamber on designed fixture is useful in accordance of following aspect-
In accordance with one aspect of present invention, the said mechanical
fixture is handy & easy to transport at testing work station.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention, the designed
mechanical fixture is such that it can hold the test equipment or sensor with proper
stabilization.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, it provides facility
to hold the test equipment from outside the climatic chamber which avoids any
climatic decay on the test equipment.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, it is safe to
operate if the said fixture is use to hold LASER receiver sensor ( as LASER is not
safe for human eyes)
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide
provisions for adjustment of fixture position according to port hole of Climatic
Chambers.

In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, the said
mechanical fixture is very useful where the tuning & alignment of test equipment as
per article under test.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, the said design is
common for all type of Climatic Chamber.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, the mechanical
fixture has assembly of bracket with adjustable rod which make the said fixture
adaptable with different shape & size of testing equipment by changing the bracket.

The design & development of holding fixture is one of the best examples for
optimization of existing resources.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Referring the figure 1 ,2 & 3 , the present invention is Test apparatus handle fixture
for Climatic Chamber, which is used to hold & fix the test equipment or sensors in
front of port hole of Climatic Chamber as per testing article requirement.
The base 4 of the mechanical fixture is heavy weight circular plate which provides
the stability to the fixture when testing equipment or sensor mounted on bracket 1.
The designed mechanical fixture has hollow fixed rod 3 which is welded at center

point of the circular plate base 4. The adjustable rod 2 is designed with one cavity
type slot on its centre line. The adjustable rod 2 has arrangement to insert in hollow
fixed rod 3. With this arrangement for insertion & extraction of adjustable rod 2 inside
the hollow fixed rod 3, the fixture can achieve different height. The height of the
fixture can be adjusted & fix at particular position according to requirement of port
hole of Climatic Chamber with the help of two quantity of locking screw 5.
The bracket 1 of the fixture is main frame at which the testing equipment or sensor
hold & fix. The L- shape bracket 1 design is such that it can properly hold & clamping
hole is use to fix the testing equipment or sensors. The L-shape bracket 1 is
assembled on the adjustable rod 2 with the help of pin 6. The assembly design of
fixture 1 with adjustable rod 2 provides flexibility for change of bracket as per our test
equipment shape & size. This arrangement makes the invented holding fixture
adaptable to hold & fix for different shape and size of testing equipment.

We Claim

1. The test apparatus handle fixture for Climatic Chamber is holding & fixing platform for test equipment or sensor on L-shaped bracket. The test apparatus handling fixture for Climatic Chamber comprises:
- Base plate in circular shape and having sufficient mass to resist bending of the fixture during transportation and houses other sub assembly of the fixture
- Hollow fixed rod and adjustable rod for manipulation in the height according the test requirement
- Bracket to hold the test equipment of the sensor
- locking screw to fix the height of fixture as per test requirement.

2. The holding fixture of claim 1 wherein, circular base plate is to provide for stabilized and balanced holding of test apparatus.
3. The holding fixture of claim 1 wherein, hollow fixed rod and cavity design on centre line of adjustable rod which give the property of height adjustment according to the port hole position of Climatic chamber.
4. The holding fixture of claim 3 further coupled with the two locking screw arrangement for fixing the fixed & adjustable rod at particular height.
5. The holding fixture of claim 1 wherein, lower fixture mass facilitates the easy handling of fixture to the testing work station
6. The holding fixture of claim 1 wherein, fixture is used to hold and operate laser receiver sensors at safe distance.
7. The holding fixture of claim 1 wherein, have assembly of holding bracket on adjustable rod via pin make it easy to disassemble, if change of bracket is required.
8. The holding fixture of claim 7 further compatible to handle different shape & size of testing apparatus by changing of holding bracket. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
