2. A Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the said transparent polymeric film having thickness ranging from 10µ to 100µ is a rigid polymer such as Polyethylene terephalate (PET), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) , Biaxially Oriented Poly propylene (BOPP);
3. A Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the said label is supplied in continuous roll form in self-wound state without any liner and is suitable for application by automatic label applicators during manufacturing, inspection or packing;
4. A Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 1 and 3, wherein the said label is thermally bonded to fabrics at a bonding temperature of about 100º C - 250º C, more preferably about 130º C - 200º C, even more preferably about 150º C - 180º C, at a bonding pressure of about 2 - 10 Kg/cm², more preferably about 3-5 Kg/cm², for a bonding time of 2 – 10 seconds, more preferably about 3 – 5 seconds;
5. A Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 1 and 4, wherein the said label once bonded cannot be removed, replaced or reused by use of heat, force, chemicals etc.;
6. A Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 1 and 5, wherein the top transparent polymeric film comes out when removal of the label is attempted after bonding to the fabric;
7. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) comprising : (a) coating of release material on one of the surfaces of transparent thermoplastic film by gravure roll coating method; (b) deposition of metal on the release coated side by vacuum coating method followed by embossing; (c) coating heat activated adhesive on embossed side followed by drying and (d) slitting in desired width using razor slitting technique.
8. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the release material is consisting of 5 to 10% solution of thermoplastic resin from the group consisting of one part methyl methacrylate :one part nitrocellulose; 10 parts cellulose acetate butyrate :one part vinyl copolymer resin; nitrocellulose; cellulose acetate butyrate in a suitable solvent;
9. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the heat activated adhesive is prepared by blending water based polyurethane emulsion and thermoplastic copolymer which is a linear saturated polyester resin with softening point of about 50ºC to 70ºC, in the ratio of 90:10 to 50:50 under high speed stirrer at room temperature;
10. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the heat activated adhesive is prepared by dissolving synthetic polymers and tackifying resins in a polymer to resin ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 in an aromatic solvent under slow speed stirrer at room temperature.
11. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 10, wherein the said synthetic polymer can be a styrene- Isoprene –Styrene (SIS) rubber, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate or mixture thereof.
12. A process of manufacturing Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) as claimed in Claim 10, wherein the said tackifying resins can be formed of hydrocarbon resins, rosin and rosin derivatives, polyterpenes, coumarone-indene resins, any compatible conventional tackifier or mixtures thereof.
, Description:The present invention provides a Thermally applied seal of authenticity for fabric roll(s) which is a label consisting of a transparent thermo plastic film that is a rigid polymeric film having two surfaces, with a release coating layer on one of the surfaces of transparent thermo plastic film, followed by a thin metallic layer over the release layer which is further embossed to give optically variable effect and finally an adhesive layer on the non embossed side of the metal layer where the adhesive layer is a non tacky layer and bonds to an article such as but not limited to a fabric roll(s) on application of heat and pressure.
