4. DESCRIPTION

Technical field of invention

This invention relates to tamper evident hinged container closure and more particularly to an improved closure cap with tamper evident ring.

Background of the Invention

In the field of caps for containers, those caps with a contact surface provided for being coupled to the neck of a container and preserving its content are known generally, caps of this type use a type of irregularity on their inner perimetral face to contact the outer side of the neck of the container, which allows a certain sealing to be achieved when a user couples the cap to the container.

However, caps of this type have a series of drawbacks. These notably include, among others, the fact that these caps often close the container through the outer side of the neck thereof and the presence of small burrs causes the sealing to be inadequate. Likewise, even starting from an initial leak tight situation, due to the configuration thereof, it is common for storage or transport operations to cause a critical sealing deformation, even giving rise to leakages.

It is therefore desirable in the state of the art to improve caps of this type for the purpose of providing caps for containers capable of assuring a reliable and long-lasting sealing of the content.

Brief summary of the invention

The following presents a simplified summary of the disclosure in order to provide a basic understanding to the reader. This summary is not an extensive overview of the disclosure and it does not identify key/critical elements of the invention or delineate the scope of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts disclosed herein in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The said threadless neck comprises a top ring, a bottom ring and a support ring. The said top ring of the said threadless neck holds a tamper band of the said closure. The said bottom ring holds an end rest of the said closure, and the said support ring help filling the container on a filling line.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure comprises a plug with dual and/or triple sealing arrangement, to seal the threadless neck from the top.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure comprises at least one groove on top of the closure to give flexibility to the plug.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure comprises one side hinge and other side locking.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure comprises a bottom ring joint and a top ring joint with a plurality of strings, wherein the said bottom ring joint slips over the said top ring of the said threadless neck.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure is adapted to open by pulling the projection, wherein the strings break to open the closure to make the said container tamper evident (tamper proof).

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said tamper band of the said closure functions for locking after it is opened.
.
In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said closure plug major diameter is higher than the said threadless neck inner diameter to properly seal the said threadless neck to make container leak proof.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the said grooves provided on top of the closure gives required flexibility to the plug, and reduces the overall weight of the closure.

In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a leak test has been performed by keeping water filled bottle in vacuum chamber at -600 milli bar for 3 minutes, no leakage found.

TEST RESULTS
DROP TEST:
Drop test method is intended for using in evaluating the capability of a bottle closed with press fit tethered cap to withstand the sudden shock resulting from a free fall, or to evaluate the capability of a container with press fit tethered cap and its inner packing to protect its contents during the sudden shock resulting from a free fall. This test method may also permit observation of the progressive failure of a container with press fit tethered cap and the damage to its contents.

The bottle with full of liquid and closed with press fit tethered Cap dropped freely from height of 1 meter on the floor. It is found that no damage to the cap and also no leakage or spillage of contents.

The leak detector tests be used for a variety of different package types, from stand-up pouches, packages with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), rigid trays, vacuum skin packs, thermoform bottles, sachets, flow wraps, form fill seal and re closable bottles. Wherever bottle seal integrity is critical, the vacuum seal tester can be used to detect if there are any faults in the bottles seal, seam or closure.

Using a Package Leak Detector:
The package leak detector can be used for a variety of different package types, from stand-up pouches, packages with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), rigid trays, vacuum skin packs, thermos form packages, sachets, flow wraps, form fill seal (VFFS) and re closable packages. Wherever bottle seal integrity is critical, the vacuum seal tester can be used to detect if there are any faults in the bottles seal, seam or closure.

Dry Chamber Flexible Package Testing:
The Dry Chamber method of package leak detection is best suited for packages whose contents are liquid and have little headspace or air within the package. The bottle is placed in a dry tank (or chamber) on a paper towel or absorbent-type material. The vacuum is drawn to operator specifications and if after the test finishes, the towel or material is wet, the package seal is faulty.
Altitude Simulation Seal Integrity Test Methods:
Altitude simulation is important for all goods traveling with varying altitude levels, most commonly air travel or over ground crossing mountain ranges. Upon take-off and landing, the product undergoes extremes in altitude level. The Altitude Simulation method can be performed in either a dry or wet tank (or chamber) depending upon package contents through referencing a Vacuum versus Altitude simulation chart.

Specifications:
• Vacuum adjustable up to – 900 mb (675 mm-Hg.)
• Box made of polished transparent PMMA (very rugged)
• Easy to use and safe
• 2 stage vacuum and holding time setting
• Accuracy: 0.5% of the measure
• Delivered with vacuum generator

VACUUM TEST:
Vacuum test is non-destructive functional analysis for finding critical defects. The defects that can be analyzed in this test are leakages under the pressure. This test method may also permit observation of the progressive failure of a container with press fit tethered cap and the damage to its contents.

The bottle with full of liquid and closed with press fit tethered Cap undergone for a vacuum test at 600 mb for 3 minutes. And it is found to be no leakage or spillage from press fit tethered Cap.
