Specification

DESC:[001] The present disclosure generally relates to a three ways catalytic converter with SCR. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a three ways catalytic converter with SCR to prevent and control emission of pollutants from vehicle and method of manufacturing thereof.
[002] In automobile sectors significantly reducing the emissions of pollutant from vehicle is the utmost requirement to follow the environmental norms. Towards this direction, a three-way catalytic convertor (3-Way Catalytic convertor) is existing expensive system in after treatment of the exhaust comes from CNG engines. Here the main pollutants emit from CNG exhaust are CO, CH4, NOx, NH3, PM etc.; wherein emitted NOx in atmosphere get converted into nitric acid (HNO3); being reason of acid rain on the earth. Therefore, controlling NOx requires reducing agent to activate the catalytic reaction, which requires Rhodium (Rh) in PGM appears to be a costly affair. As we know that the prices of PGM (especially Rh) increases at faster rate in the global market, almost the Rhodium prices jumped to 35 times in the last five years, lead to increase of 4500% in recent times.
[003] Therefore, there is an unmet need to find an alternate low-cost solution for optimization of resources, as there is no production of rhodium in India and also it is costly affairs.
[004] The present invention solves the aforementioned and other allied problems by the way of providing a three-way catalytic system with a significantly low rhodium content with a compact passive SCR system in CNG system. The main problems solved by this invention is significant reduction in the requirement of precious metal which can provide immediate cost saving and conserving Forex reserve in long run.
[005] The present invention relates to a three-way catalytic system with a significantly low rhodium content with a compact passive SCR system in CNG system adopting LNT technology by controlling rich and lean operation of the engine.
[006] To significantly reduce the Rh content in the loading of PGM, the main challenge is how to comply NOx emission as we know that Rh plays a significant role in the reduction of NOx. As we know the selective catalyst reducer also used to control NOx. Because of this Passive SCR with TWC emerges as a unique concept in CNG, Exhaust Emission control systems. Therefore, the key factors to make system workable are size of SCR, SCR inlet temperature, control strategy for lean and rich operations (to control lean/rich cycle time), working AFR and ANR ratio etc. The present invention describes a solution to the 5.7-liter CNG engine with 4.8 Liter of TWC with a 4.6l of passive SCR catalyst. The control the rich and lean cycle time by a feedback control strategy. To control the exhaust temperature in CNG, TWC as the efficacy of NOx reduction in passive SCR reduces over 400°C.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[007] Aspects of the present disclosure are illustrated by way of example(s), and not by way of limitation, in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
[008] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram for the component assembly of TWC; and
[009] FIG. 2 is demonstrating percentage increase in Rhodium prices in last five years by adopting conventional system.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS
[0010] The present invention belongs to the field of an engine mounted turbo coupled diesel oxidation catalyst system to reduce the significant consumption and requirement of precious metal (PGM) in the in exhaust after treatment system and method of manufacturing thereof. Particularly, a three-way catalytic system with a significantly low rhodium content with a compact passive SCR system in CNG system adopting LNT technology by controlling rich and lean operation of the engine.
[0011] Referring to FIG. 1 a schematic Diagram for the component assembly of TWC. The FIG.1 explain significantly reduce the Rh content in the loading of PGM, the main challenge is how to comply NOx emission as we know that Rh plays a significant role in the reduction of NOx.
[0012] FIG. 2 demonstrating percentage increase in Rhodium prices in last five years by adopting conventional system. It demonstrated the prices of PGM (especially Rh) increases at faster rate in the global market, almost the Rhodium prices jumped to 35 times in the last five years, lead to increase of 4500% in recent times.
