Abstract: A power transmission drive for a robotic arm (100) is described. The robotic arm includes a plurality of joints and each joint is driven by respective drive motor. The power transmission assembly is provided to transmit power from the drive motor to the respective joint. The power transmission drive includes a pulley assembly having at least one driving pulley coupled to the drive motor and at least one driven pulley coupled to respective joint structure. The at least one driving pulley and the at least one driven pulley are coupled to each other through an elongated endless member to form an endless track between the driving pulley and the driven pulley.
DESC:TIMER BELT POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FOR A ROBOTIC ARM ,CLAIMS:1. A robotic arm (100) comprising:
a plurality of joint structures;
a plurality of motors, wherein each motor is for powering at least one joint structure;
a plurality of power transmission drive, each power transmission drive is for coupling at least one joint structure to a motor, each of the plurality of power transmission drive comprises:
at least one driving pulley coupled to a driving shaft of the motor,
at least one driven driven pulley coupled to a driven shaft of the at least one joint structure, and
an elongate endless member rotatably coupled to the driving pulley and the driven pulley.
2. The robotic arm (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of joint structures comprises a base joint, a shoulder joint, an elbow joint, a wrist joint, and an end effector.
3. The robotic arm (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the power transmission drive corresponding to the end effector comprises a pair of bevel gear.
4. The robotic arm (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the power transmission drive comprises a sub-set of tensioner pulley.
5. The robotic arm 100 as claimed in claim 4, wherein the sub-set of tensioner pulleys comprises a plurality of pulleys of different outside diameter.
6. The robotic arm (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the power transmission drives includes multi-stage pulley assembly.
