This invention describes a tool to install and removal of drain valve in LCA (Light Combat Aircraft)
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
To drain out the residual fuel from the Wing tank as well as from drop tank in LCA aircraft, Drain valve needs to be removed for draining. Due to lack of proper tool, drain valve used to have dent marks. This problem was to be overcome by designing a new tool to install and remove the drain valve. (As shown in figure-1)
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
The tool should be designed to properly hold the drain valve for installation and removal. The designed tool will provide the proper seating of the drain valve to screw/unscrew.
PROCESS DETAIL DESCRIPTION
The drain valve tool (As shown in figure-2) consists of the horizontal handle with extension and locating pins to suit the drain valve dimensions. All the sharp edges have been rounded off to avoid the damage and injury while using the tool.
Process to be carried out for installation and removal of drain valve:
1. For removal of valve, tool is placed in such a way that locating pins of the tool will get properly aligned with the provision provided on the valve, then unscrew the valve to remove.
2. For installation hold the valve on the tool and insert in the proper orientation then screw it to install.
