1. TITLE OF THE INVENTION:
"TOP LOADING FULLY AUTOMATIC/SEMI-AUTOMATIC WASHING MACHINE WITH MECHANISED ROTATARY BRUSH"
2. APPLICANTS:
(a) NAME: MIRC ELECTRONICS LIMITED
(b) NATIONALITY: Indian Company incorporated under The Companies Act, 1956

3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION:
The following specification describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a top loading fully automatic/semi-automatic washing machine with built-in brushing facility. More particularly, the present invention relates to a scrubbing assembly in a fully automatic/semi-automatic washing machine with mechanised rotatory brush for specific areas of clothing such as shirt-collar.
BACKGROUND & PRIOR ART:
Manual cleaning of clothing has always been a painstaking and tiresome task. Additionally, it consumes considerable amount of time in the wake busy schedule. Automatic/semi-automatic washing machines considerably saved efforts and time involved in cleaning of clothing. However, the washing machine still fails to clean stains on cloths, especially the shirt collar, due to sweating. In tropical countries, staining on cloths due to sweating is a headache. Hence, at the end, one has to rely more on manual cleaning despite using washing machine. An alternative can be found out in some of the patent document.
US6832404 discloses a shirt-collar cleaning system which includes a sliding plate, a guiding plate, a rotating brush situated above the sliding plate and a soap water spraying system. The sliding plate has clips to hold the shirt-collar. The shirt-collar is placed on the sliding plate and the plate is moved with the collar under the brush to remove the ring along the collar. A push switch is placed in the gliding plate directly under the brush so that soap water is sprayed onto the collar as the sliding plate activates the switch as it starts to pass under the brush.
US20050160773 discloses a cleaning system for stubborn stains such as dress-shirt collar and sleeve edges comprising a motorized wheel brush, a pressure roller to press clothing item against the rotating brush, a roller pressure adjustment assembly, and a cleaning-solution container under the brush to make the brush partially submerged in the solution. The proposed system eliminates manual brushing currently performed on stubborn stains, resulting in a much improved cleaning quality and reduced labor costs.
Additionally, independent shirt-collar and sleeve washing units have been patented. These equipments are unwieldy and could only be used in commercial, bulk cleaners and large

commercial establishment, such as hotels and hospitals. Household washing machines with fixed brush attached to the inner surface attached to the washing bucket have been introduced in the market by some inventors. However, cleaning of cuffs & collars or prior to dumping for regular household washing has not been reported. There exists a need of such a facility where specific areas than the rest be cleaned.
The inventors of the present invention have introduced a built-in scrubbing assembly in a washing machine with rotatory brush to clean a specific part of the cloth.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION:
The present invention discloses a washing machine having a built-in scrubbing assembly to facilitate cleaning of a specific part of a cloth. The scrubbing assembly consists of a mechanised rotatory brush, a gear/brush motor, and a transmission assembly, wherein a soaked cloth is held against said mechanised rotatory brush for removing adamant stains off specific portion of cloths such as cuffs and collars.
In an embodiment, the transmission assembly consists of a belt, a bearing/brush pulley, a bearing holder and a motor pulley. A knob is provided on the control panel of the washing machine to manually turn ON/OFF the mechanised rotatory brush.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS:
Fig. 1 illustrates a washing machine with a built-in scrubbing assembly according to the
present invention.
Fig. 2 illustrates different components of washing machine with built-in scrubbing
assembly.
Fig. 3 illustrates control panel for rotatory brush.
Detailed Description:
The present invention discloses a washing machine having a scrubbing assembly to facilitate cleaning of a specific part of a cloth, said scrubbing assembly comprising a mechanised rotatory brush, a gear/brush motor, and a transmission assembly comprising a belt, a bearing/brush pulley, a bearing holder and a motor pulley; wherein a soaked cloth

is held against said mechanised rotatory brush for removing adamant stains off specific portion of cloths such as cuffs and collars.
Hereinafter, the term "washing machine" implies a washing machine having a scrubbing assembly according to the present invention. Also, the term "brush" implies a mechanised rotatory brush which is a part of the present invention.
The mechanised rotatory brush is attached to the mouth of the washing machine. The mechanised rotatory brush can be rotated in both directions i.e. clockwise as well as anticlockwise. A soaked cloth is held against the mechanised rotatory brush in order to clean the specific portion of the cloth. The cloth can be dumped back in the in the basket/bucket tub portion of the washing machine.
The present invention can be understood with reference to the figures mentioned and explained below. However, the figures are exemplary and do not restrict the scope of the invention .
Fig. 1 illustrates a washing machine with a built-in scrubbing assembly as described in the present invention. A mechanised rotatory brush(l) is mounted on frame, attached to the mouth of the washing machine.
Fig. 2 illustrates the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Various components of the scrubbing assembly have been indicated in this figure. The rotation of the mechanised rotatory brush(l) is effected by a gear/brush motor(2) through a transmission assembly(3). The transmission assembly(3) consists of a belt(3A), a bearing/brush pul!ey(3B), a bearing holder(3C) and a motor pulley(3D). The gear/brush motor is started by a knob(5) as illustrated in Fig. 3. With respect to the rotation of the gear/brush motor, the belt(3A), the bearing/brush pulley(3B) and the bearing(4) start rotating, resulting in the rotation of the brush(l).
The operation of the scrubbing system of the present invention, with respect to the aforementioned figures, is explained as follows. The knob(5) on control panel is rotated to ON the brush motor(2), which in turn rotates the brush(l) in clockwise/anticlockwise

direction. The clothes are soaked in detergent water in wash tub. The stained cloth is held against rotating brush with nylon bristle. Due to scrubbing of rotating brush against stained cloth and repetitive action removes stains in the cloth. The knob(5) is turned OFF after use to switch off the gear/brush motor(l) and hence the brush(l). The steps of stain removal can be repeated as required in regular interval of 10-15 minutes till satisfactory results are achieved. The rotating brush replaces manual brushing of clothes outside washing machine to remove strains. This is an advantage over the state of the art.

We claim:
1. A washing machine having a built-in scrubbing assembly to facilitate cleaning of
a specific part of a cloth, said scrubbing assembly comprising
(i) a mechanised rotatory brush(I) attached at mouth of said washing
machine, (ii) a gear/brush motor(2), and (iii) a transmission assembly(3) comprising a belt(3A), a bearing/brush
pulley(3B), a bearing holder(3C) and a motor pulley(3D); wherein a soaked cloth is held against said mechanised rotatory brush(l) for removing adamant stains off specific portion of cloths such as cuffs and collars.
2. A washing machine according to claim 1; wherein a knob(5) is provided on a panel on said washing machine to turn on/off said brush.
3. A washing machine according to claim I; wherein said mechanised rotatory brush(l) is made of nylon bristle.
